really love your mod! Hope the devs see it one day and open up the modding possibilities a bit more for it to become a smoother experience.
Regarding the black / non existent skybox. would it be possible to autocast or attach a model to the player which would be just a giant hollow ball that get's a skybox texture added? i guess a static cast effect would be better since the sky would move when the char moves which would make the world seem to spin very fast.
There are skyboxes in the game but they appear below the character instead of above. Notably in the area before Korvaak. I'm still looking for a way to fiddle with it.
Rather than using this mod, I'm just using ReWASD to map virtual controller to keyboard and mouse, and the DPYes/Grim Cam mods for free mouse look. Works great!
After disabling fog in options, and extending the clipping distance distance in DPYes/Grim Cam, I threw in a new, more consistent depth based fog with reshade to mask the remaining pop in and the harsh cut to distant black.
Reshade can manage a basic skybox, but I think it would seem weird in dungeons. I suppose it may be possible to hotkey a couple different reshade profiles and manually switch when going underground.
Anyone playing this in 2023? XD I cant get the UI fixed. I watched the video's and tried many settings, but the UI keeps being a mess on my 1920 - 1080 resolution screen. Anyone else struggling? Or got a tip?
Nevermind i see you have to make the custom game under grim truce. Is there anyway to convert this camera position into the RoT mod? I just want to play diablo 2 in 1st person! I would pay good money for that.
That's well beyond my ability to pull off. Sadly, areas like Fort Ikon and Asterkarn will always have significant slow down. I play with background fps set to minimum and doesn't seem to effect quality of gameplay with this mod.
Kinda janky but to see the mod correctly, you have to use the custom resolutions and play the game in windowed mode. There are instructions in the description.
Would love to fix this to play in regular fullscreen but your character is hard wired to be in the center of the view.
I had the same problem (trying to play in 4K res) - I followed all the instructions but I got some strange results, so I had to experiment a bit. I ended up having to tweak the numbers for the resolution to get the whole screen to show up. But once that was done I still had the UI bar in the middle. It's still playable, especially if you shrink it some, but I think it's still a bit distracting from what the intent of the mod is (to provide a deeper feel of immersion).
I couldn't find any way to move the UI bar, but I did find a mod to toggle it from the screen - griminternals
Once you get all that setup, you can press CTRL-F1 and the entire UI disappears for some really nice immersion. It's amazing how the change in perspective completely alters the feel of the game. I recommend binding that to a button on your controller, and then it's just a matter of one extra press to get the UI back if you want it.
Kudos again to a fun mod and a great idea in general.
The screen should load as a giant box with the recommended resolution, using "cascade windows" you can rearrange the window to move everything below the UI bar offscreen.
Also, now allowing players to skip levels 1 and 2. Cheers!
*Update:Also posted a video on how to set up the interface. Hope this clears it all up!
