-Mod Adjustment Requests for Fangs of Asterkern Expansion- •Stacking Components •Reduced EXP •Reduced Loot •Reduced Enemy Stun •Look into mob density during gameplay before considering an increase (Unsure if personal preference or if too low) •Make some weaker enemy types call for help/link, while larger/dangerous enemies can be pulled away from mob groups
I'll add more to this list as you guys make requests, so I don't forget.
One of my favorite, old videos that I thought I lost. The second half of the clip shows me getting lucky procs to activate a form of multi attack with my 2H. Each attack has a small chance to attack another attack, and I got a couple procs in a row which made it look pretty cool. Keeping it here for now if you want to see it. It really shows how cool the combat can be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIZrAQTIMNY
Oh thank God !! You managed to make the most unique mod for this entire game history of mods. Someone that actually loves slower paced and tactical combat in ARPG is a rarity
Dread deserves all the praise it receives, and an updated version for FoA would be greatly appreciated.
One of my few complaints is the ability to lure individual monsters from packs: it's a bit immersion-breaking when a monster takes obvious damage but its allies in the immediate vicinity are meandering about with hardly a care in the world.
I've had some terrifyingly close calls on hardcore mode with this mod, and I think that's where it really shines!
It's cool that people are still playing and enjoying the mod.
I thought the individual luring was a good thing due to how strong monsters get. It also gives you an option on how you want to handle the situation/encounter. Maybe I can improve this by letting certain mobs aggro/link to their fellow mobs when in combat.
Also, I'm interested to know whether you guys like reduced damage versions or prefer default values. The idea is that the gameplay should be identical, but instead of hitting 100,000 damage on a monster with 1,000,000 health, you would hit 1,000 damage on a monster with 10,000 health. It's been a long while, so I don't completely remember how I did, but I'd like to know if you guys like the concept of smaller numbers -- or maybe I'll just include both versions again.
Glad you like it and more criticism is welcome and open to make further changes. Thank you.
This might be way too much work, but perhaps consider the type of creature when tweaking aggro range. A cowardly weak goblin type would call his nearby buddies to fight. A larger chimera or griffon would be more solitary predators anyway.
Thank you for the mod, Lufrewop. I was searching for some slower paced mod and yours seemed interesting. I was not dissapointed, but i wanted to play not only with slower combat, but the whole gameplay being slower and harder... So i spent some time modding your work to reduce loot and exp gain, increase mobs spawn a little bit and change their stats. Also, I increased mobs view and now It is really good for my playthrough, really enjoying it now, ty.
Is it possible if you could send me your version of dread? I love this and think Lufrewop has done an amazing job on this mod but i also find the loot and exp too be a little much and would love to try your version if possible!
Great mod, makes me feel like im playing dungeon siege again lol. just curious why you didnt make components stack. makes me feel like i gotta rush to purchasing new stash tabs. its not not cheap. cheers!
staggers are so annoying. Even enemy rifleman mob stuns me. I can't enjoy such game. Is there a version of this mod without staggers like it was in vanilla?
Hi! How do I install the mod? It goes in the mods/database folder, right? I currently have no mods installed, I choose the only option available in custom game but it doesn't seems to work. It is just a boring normal game with a horde of weak monster and no drop changes.
Yeah, that is what I did but it had no change. The enemies are still weak, the xp and drop rate didn't changed at all. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Is it because I am in the beginning maybe?
Hello Lufrewop im really enjoing your mod but i wanted to tune a little bit the response radius for enemy awareness around the player, can this be done, and how hard that can be, can you point me in the right direction so i can change the values myself thank you so much
I'm sorry for the late response, and since I'm not home, nor have the game installed, I will have to tell you by memory. I believe the files you want to look for are in records>database>controller>enemy. You want to edit the viewDistance. If you want enemies to attack you from greater distances, increase that value, or lower it for the opposite effect.
You will have to do this for every enemy you want to be affected. The Forgotten Gods Shattered Realm also has it's own section where the viewDistance must be changed as well.
Downloading the mod right now, i'm about to cry tears of joy...The amount of time i been looking for a mod that does something like this to these type of games and especially Grim Dawn...I was initially looking for a hitstop or stagger effect in combat found your mod by typing combat overhaul. You're a god damn genius, consider keeping on tweaking the mod this is amazing
I was in your very shoes. It seemed no one would ever spend their time to make a mod like this for these types of games. I'm glad you found it and hope you enjoy it as much.
I will definitely consider tweaking the mod if/when I start playing again. Thankfully, the mod auto-updates itself in most areas thanks to the way it handles the files.
Hi, can you please add an option to remove that annoying enemy respawn every time after you exit and restart the game? I do not want to kill the same enemies again and again and again ...
Amazing mod my friend! I have a suggestion, could you add the TPC(Third person camera) mod into your mod? That would be amazing, would add a lot of immersion.
I gave it a try, and honestly, all I would have to do is increase the zoom on my camera settings to get a similar effect. I think that amount of zoom takes away from the experience because of how small the FOV is. The best option would be to keep my camera setting the same, but to increase the amount of zoom that is allowed, giving players more freedom.

Any chance you can post your build or share it somewhere, please?
Thanks in advance!
It will look something like this:
...\Grim Dawn\mods\DREAD(folder)\database\DREAD(file)

Again, sorry for replying so late
