Performance impact
I am running the game at maximum graphical settings on 4k resolution, running this preset it lowers my FPS from 60 to 45-50 in most areas.
Installation (Method 1) RECOMMENDED
In your Grim Dawn x64 folder, rename the file called "dxgi.dll" to "d3d11.dll" In game, press the HOME button and select the .ini preset file to enable the effects Downsides

Installation (Method 1) RECOMMENDED
- Download this mod .zip and unpack its contents to your 64 bit Grim Dawn folder, for example in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\x64
- In game, press the HOME button and select the .ini preset file to enable the effects
- Download ReShade from their website: https://reshade.me/
- Download the .ini preset from this mod that is contained in the .zip file, place it in the Grim Dawn installation folder.
- Press the first button: "Click here to select a game and manage its ReShade insallation"
- Click browse and select the 64 bit .exe for Grim Dawn, for example in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\x64\GrimDawn.exe"
- Select "Direct3D 10/11/12"
- During the shader installation prompts, you have two options:
- Install every shader
- Install only the required shaders:
- Comic.fx
- FakeHDR.fx
- qUINT_sharp.fx
- AdaptiveToneMapper.fx
- PD80_03_Curved_Levels.fx
- Levels.fx
- PD80_04_Color_Balance.fx
- Contrast may be too much, try lowering GAMMA in the menu settings
- Menus and texts are also affected, as well as colors from item rarities
