sorry for no update or reply at all, had irl stuff to taking care of right now (one dog with ckd).

it look like game update break this mod again. but only "compatibility patch" this time. you can still use this mod and FLYLDOI together just don't install "compatibility patch".

however there may still be one problem. for example if you want to change this mod options but when you talk to companion it only show mod options from FLYLDOI? you will need to close greedfall and delete "talk_companions" folder form FLYLDOI mod folder to make this mod settings show up or vice versa. mod folder are in "[game folder]\datalocal"

there may still be more bug but i don't know when will i have time or motivation to look into it. (so no promise this time.)

Done everything right I'm pretty sure but whenever I start talking to them about the mod it just... exits the talking menu.

That happened for me as well, at first. Until I went "home", where I could talk to them properly and include them in the team. Maybe that may help you as well (if still relevant...)

This is like THE BEST MOD EVER for this game.

Especially if you use "Speak ur mind" version. It's really really add more immersion to the game. each companion would comment on something it feels like they are supporting each other opinion.

Guys i find the solution for the "silk error" if you read the decription of the mod (i didnt read it xD) its say that its not compatible with mods that change quests and the easy increase reputation do that, so you cant use the 2 mods at the same time

hey, this doesn't work in standard edition :c both download versions are "gold" version, even the one that says "base game only" which feels a bit scummy. anyone have a solution?

    Этот мод отлично работает.
Он позволяет читать интересные реплики и мысли спутников, что довольно увлекательно, особенно когда в игре всего два собеседника... :)
    Спасибо!
    ____________
The mod works well, opens up interesting lines and thoughts of the companions, quite interesting to read, and you run around with two.... :)
    Thank you!

I did everything according to the instructions.
      Downloaded the file: "increase Party size (or decrease it) for DLC";
      Copied to: D:\GOG Games\Grid Full\datalocal
In my case, I use the torrent version: GOG [1.0 (5686) (48899)]

I see. It looks like this mod doesn't work with Fight It Like You Meant It (by the same modder)

Perhaps yes, there is a conflict.
As you can see, I have only 2 mods.
Just try to run this mod, then you will definitely find out the reason :)

I did ran this mod back before the new DLC came out, back in 2019. It was great.

Anyways, I found a workaround to make this work with Fight Like You Meant It

      Install this mod first
Speak to companion and increase limit (I increased from 2 to 3)
And then install Fight Like You Meant It
Delete the talk folder from Fight Like You Meant It

Both are now working with each other.

At first, I was a little confuse about how to install this mod. Finally, I was able to make the mod work, but I think there are still some people kinda confuse out there, so I have decided to share my step by step guide with you, so that way you could enjoy this wonderful mod too!

    • Download the mod version that corresponds to your game. [In my case, I have the DLC, so I downloaded this version.]
    • Extract the mod. You're about to see 4 folders. That's OK.
    • Now, make a new folder. [I named it "increasepartymod" and I will use this name just for a reference, but you can call the folder like you want.]
    • Copy ALL the elements you see inside the 4 folders in that new folder "increasepartymod". Then delete the rest of the empty folders, since you have the mod placed in this new folder.
    • Finally, copy the "increasepartymod" folder and paste it in your game install folder, more specifically, in "GreedFall/datalocal".
    • Open the game and speak to one companion. Now you will see the option to change the party size.

Hope this helps! This is a game-changing mod, especially for those who love immersion!

Thanks to the author for this wonderful mod and for the effort and time putted into! :)

Thanks a lot for this! It seems to work, although just copying the 4 directories "as is" to ./datalocal (as another commenter described) also works for me now. (And no, they also have no clue how that works, but it does.)

But with both setups, when talking to a companion to include them in the team, after at first successfully changing it to "everybody", just closed the dialog immediately. Until I went "home", where I could talk to them properly and include them in the team. Maybe helpful for others who struggle with this...

I can't change party size. When I choose dialogue option, dialogue just ends. Doesn't matter if I'm in the campsite, home or merchant camp between locations. I'm also using FLYLDOI mod but I deleted talk_companions from it. I also use some mods that don't affect companions

I love this mod! Thank you! ♥ Somehow the game made a work on the party banter, and everyone comment, it's more lively!

this one was a tricky mission XD

How did you get the mod to work?

It's a great shame this most essential mod of the few useful mods for this game has such a poor documentation from the author. For anyone wondering how to get this work here's something resembling proper instructions...

    INSTALLATION:
Unpack the whole directory (including ALL the sub-directories as they are no matter if you have DLC or not) into the GreedFall\datalocal folder.
Make sure the game folder is named GreedFall (case sensitive).

    USAGE:
Talk to any companion at the camp fire and choose the dialog option
    "[MOD]Change party size..."
Use bonfire to include companions in the party.

I don't quite understand how the game knows how to use the files from the crazy directory structure (e.g. "increase Party size (or decrease it) - Gold Edition\Speak your mind - DLC\dialog_graphs\enhanced_edition\*.*" but it does seem to work.

Thanks to some other commenter who pointed out you need to use the non-DLC folders to make it work if you have DLC.

Thanks a lot for this thorough description! I was also struggling with what directories to copy, or not. It seems to work for me now.

But when talking to a companion to include them in the team, after at first successfully changing it to "everybody", just closed the dialog immediately. Until I went "home", where I could talk to them properly and include them in the team. Maybe helpful for others who struggle with this...
