INSTALLATION After unpacking, run the "ReShade Setup.exe" file: We search the game folder "HDD: \ xxx \ steamapps \ common \ GreedFall \ GreedFall.exe" We just mark the file "GreedFall.exe" <<< the program installs ... And it's ready. After starting the game, the modification can be turned on or off with the "Scroll Lock" button
This mod need to INSTALL, if u copy and paste not work... Before install- Check the integrity of game files, <<< if you used a different reshade before.
I don't know if anyone else is having issues with Reshade crashing GreedFall on startup, but here's a fix that has helped me out, got it from another mods post section:
For those folks who getting crash at launch with reshade here is a possible fix.
1: Install reshade as normal 2: Locate the nealy installed dxgi.dll 3: Rename dxgi.dll to d3d11.dll
Edit: for this mod just start up the Reshade.exe in this mod's files and when its done do as the instructions say.
I play Greedfall Gold Edition on the GOG version and the game does not need to rename dxgi.dll to d3d11.dll (but I renamed the file anyway because I was crashing at the skill tree to see if that stops the crashing, but no). I activated the game with dxgi.dll in the game folder and no crash on startup, so you can use a controller with this mod at least for the GOG version. I am not sure about the Steam version nor about the non-Gold Edition of the game.
Edit: I have discovered that the game will crash when accessing the skill tree in any way possible. The file at fault seems to be d3dll.dll based on looking at Windows Event Viewer report. Submitted a bug issue report.
I'm having the same issue. It's the d3d11.dll file, I think. The controller needs it, but Reshade does as well. I've been trying to find ways to use them both at once, but no luck.
Hold on, once i unpack i copy and paste everything to the datalocal folder or do i click on the "greedfall" folder and just place them in there? so Greedfall>datalocal OR Steamapps>greedfall?
Resorep and Reshade use the same hook mechanism, unless author of Resorep makes a code with specific support for Reshade, it's not possible to have both together, if you use dxgi version of Reshade you can see in dxgi.log that it attempts to hook, so game picks up both Resorep and Reshade, but only one works, depending on load order, so Reshade loses and you get only Resorep. Based on comments on Resorep forums I wouldn't expect author to make it work with Reshade, but who knows, everything changes...
This reshade isn't working for me. I'm not sure what I'm missing but I have installed exactly as instructed (manual installation).
I'm not experiencing any crash. My only problem is that the reshade doesn't appear at all.
When I press Scroll Lock, nothing happens. When I remap the toggle key to another key, it doesn't work either. I've checked integrity of files.
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. Since I never had the crash issue, I never thought to rename the newly installed dxgi.dll file to d3d11.dll As soon as I did that, it worked.
