I added a "Cheating Version" that removes the level requirements which limit what items a merchant is allowed to offer a character of a given level; this means a character just starting out could see the items meant only for lvl 24+ and a high lvl character could still see the items meant for those below lvl 8 (useful to still have access to those necklaces which companions without willpower are limited to)
In addition, it also adds a copy of EVERY valid weapon and armor piece in the game to the "traveling merchant" aka the one you see inbetween destinations; this allows easy comparison of items between each other and allows you to gear all companions at once without the need to swap them out of the active team. This actually seems to include some items perhaps not normally available in the game, such as the 144 armor epic chests, the 50 armor epic helmet, a magic lvl 5 ring, etc. The only items excluded were those which were clearly unfinished and had only debug names.
If you wanted to reduce the cheat aspect, you could use the non-cheat version until the end game and then swap to the cheat version just for convenience, which yes it is very convenient to have all the items available in one place like this. You just have to refresh the store by waiting/traveling for 24 hours if you want more than 1 copy of a given item tho
UPDATES: I added a memory crystal to the cheat version to allow for infinite respecs (one per Traveling Merchant restock) I'm also going through the code for the other versions and rewriting the conditional logic so that they never LOSE stock when you level up - only gain what they are meant to at levels 8, 16, and 24. The code is very messy, loads of redundancy that has to be eliminated so that things don't start duplicating wildly, but I'll upload those when I finish as well.
Excuse me, I seem to be unable to remove the mod. I verified the game files, did a clean install of Greedfall, deleted my saves, removed every file the game added to the computer with an uninstaller app, tried uninstalling the mod with Vortex but the merchants keep offering their full selection of items. I simply cannot return the game to its ''pure'' state. Any idea as to why this is happening and how I could fix it would be much, much appreciated.
The mod is installed as long as this folder is present, just delete the folder and everything I have added is removed: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GreedFall\datalocal
Eh, that is where ALL mods are installed so deleting it will return the game to the default state You can re-run the steam file verification afterwards just to be on the safe side too
A few months late but oh well, it takes merchants 24 in game hours to reset their stock, so even if you delete the mod/make any changes to it it'll take 24hrs for the change to show up.
Just something I noticed when swapping out the cheating version back to the non cheating version, even though I had swapped out the files, the cheaty stock still showed in game until 24hrs had passed, then it went back to showing the correct items.
after adding this, a bunch of items now have 0 armor or damage stats, trying to figure it out :s edit: Not using the cheat version, but there are basically roleplay clothes I guess? very weird..
There are def clothes like that (in the base game) if in doubt you can check the item online to make sure it has the same stats as it is supposed to - this mod only edits merchant inventories so it shouldn't affect the item stats
After looking into it... Esh, no. It's far too much work to try and make a dedicated version for that subset. What I'd do is take the Cheating version and delete the [game_components_ld_trader_ee.sli] file from it - it's not perfect but it should work well enough
This mod doesn't seem to be fully working on the "gold" edition (steam). I tried both the normal and cheat versions. While it did add a lot of weapons, it didn't add all of them, and the cheat version did not show any unique items. It looks like every item as a duplicate (with an installed mod). Could be the gold version changed weapon IDs or something?
I'm using the Steam version... but I don't see it saying "Gold" anywhere... If it is a different version of the game tho, then it is very likely to have its own versions of the edited files... Hmmm, no it looks like the "gold edition" is just a package of the main game and dlc so it shouldn't be any different; I'd check to make sure it was installed properly - only the cheat version would add uniques and then only to the merchant in-between travel screens
The "duplicate" items is expected behaviour tho because it is the item without addons and the item with the addon - a quirk of the base game's coding that I left in there
So actually... it kinda sounds like it is working as intended for you then :-P
Just a heads up, everything worked perfectly up until I hit the DLC content, then things started to go sideways and I realized I needed to update the mod for it, which I have now done so. I didn't have any issue adding, removing, nor updating the mods mid-playthrough tho.
How? Well, in the game files there is a folder with all the game data stored in "packs" and originally I had just been using the base game's pack without realizing there was also an expansion pack and I needed to be dealing with that latter one rather than the former
