If you downloaded the previous version, please download the new version! Technical details: the previous version SetMovementModifiers for all components in game, which breaks a lot of game mechanics, I changed it to only affect player movement. Silly mistake. I'm so sorry.
To repair your game after installing the new YouSteppedOnShit mod: 1. Right click your game in Steam > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files - Takes about 3-5 seconds 2. Reinstall QModManager 3. Play your game as per normal.
You can change the speed settings in the config.txt file. There are three options:
1. acceleration (negative) (-1.0, 0.0] - the closer to zero the more player slides with a single key tap. this also affects how fast things get into your inventory, so don't adjust it too much 2. friction - [0.0, 1.0] the closer to zero the heavier the friction i.e. how soon player stops after releasing key, and also how hard it is to move (inertia). this should be the main setting you can adjust. 3. speed - GK dynamically calculates player's speed at every moment so i suggest not changing this, else your game might break. but I think we can safely modify it slightly, just not too much. may result in player circling in some spots when following NPCs, but should resolve itself fairly quickly as long as you didn't set the modifier too high (like 5.0)
By default, the config.txt file is set to the same settings as when you step on donkey shit, so it's ready to plug and play if you want. Otherwise, you can tweak acceleration and friction as you like. I personally prefer these settings to walk faster, but not slide around everywhere so much: acceleration=-0.9 friction=0.25 speed=1.25
