Sorry i  see that I already asked about this a year ago but I don't remember if I managed to do it and how I did it so I'll ask againHow to change the menu screen to the one with the water mages XDDDD

what you're looking for is the image called startscreen inside the .vdf archive. so the whole mod needs to be unpacked, file has to be removed and then the whole thing must be recompiled again with Gothic VDFS. I'm sure youtube and other places has tutorials for it.

if/when i update the mod i can remove it, not sure why i've left it, i don't like it either tbh.. i don't know when that will be though.

Which specific ReShade or SweetFX graphic modification are you currently using? Photos are very colorful, which is why I'm wondering about the source of that effect.

i don't use reshade or sweetfx. Any of the GD3D11 renderers will give you this graphics.

Hi, the Hair of the Faces is looking weird, in my opinion the Hero Face of the Old Face Conversion was better. But here all Faces got that weeird looking hair.

i don't agree. the new version has photorealistic hair, the old version still has the painted on look. it was one of the things i wanted to make better. but sure there are times when it doesn't look right, but shouldn't be an issue on 90% of the characters.

doesn't look weird to me + incredible improvement over the original hair, also the facial hair and eyebrows looks much better.

again, not all will be perfect, but i'd say it looks good for most of the characters + hair isn't just a blur but has actual visible hair strands

it's an optional file anyways, no need to use if if you prefer the original looks.

You're comparing my mod to something else entirely, he made a mod with completely new 3D models for the heads, new UV-mapping etc which of course can make the hair look better.  My mod is not that and the focus is not doing "great hair" for NPC's. If i feel like fixing the few hairs that doesn't really work, i'll do it, right now i have zero interest, it's such an immensely minor thing to me personally.

I hate to admit it, because I love most of the textures especially the nature ones but there are some really awful hair textures, I went through em and found 28 specfically that look like decrepit skin or something horrifying. It seems to have an affect on a lot of buzzcut/blonde hair textures.

      This one was especially horrifying

yeah those one's are not done well i know that.. it's not as visible in-game luckily. you'd really have to be 3" from his head to see it that detail. I guess if you really wanted, you could position yourself in first person and you might get that type of view, if he's standing still.

For the most part (90%) it looks good with a few oddities, to me a few hair not looking 100% great is such a minimal thing that it would be very low on my priority list. For an absolute key character that you see a lot, maybe i'd care

No interest in modding atm either, but if i get interest back maybe i'll do a fix.

Hi, love the new Mountain Texture, looks nice. The Armor from the "Ring of Water" or how it is in English has no new Texture, also the Heavy City Guard Armor got no new one. Maybe you wan't to add them :D

The Saturation of the Grass Texture of the right doesn't fit to the Saturation of any other ground Texture. It also seems weird to look from the Side on the Texture instead from Above.

i wouldn't say it's from the side. Its the default texture pretty much, but higher quality.

yeah i've desaturated it because it's used a lot and i got tired of looking at the neon-green grass. I will probably not desaturate every texture it can be in contact with, sorry.

The sheep and all lambs has improved textures. The sheep is a lot improved over the original texture which is awful, it looks nothing like that.

Ok, kinda looks unsharp, but that can be the Game. Maybe give the Grass a tini tiny bit of Saturation? just to fit into the Style of everything?

looks like wool to me :P it's a soft material and would look strange if its too sharp looking.

I'll take a look at the grass and see what i can do.

when i find them i do tend to change them, i've not found these two i guess.
i will go over which ones are left eventually, it's not been the focus in the last update(s).

There seems to be an issue loading certain textures I think certain ones are corrupted/incomplete the textures starting with the letter w-z don't work so warg and zombie, etc

I've tried the other mod with the CoM overhaul and it has the same problem

Did you try using Union? It seems to fix texture issues.

I used Insert command for Warg and Zombie 1-4 + a few other variants of zombies, they all worked fine.

This looks great, does this mod also touch on Valley of Mines and Jarkhendar? I'm planning a replay of Gothic series and am looking for good visual mods to play it with

yes, the entire game + DLC.

It will get an update though.. i will use the textures from this mod:
Vurt's Chronicles of Myrtana Graphics Overhaul at Gothic II Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)
which also works for Gothic 2.. but there are not world changes with that mod, so no mountains or added trees or extra flora, but once its updated for G2 it will include those changes as well.

the CoM mod is much more evolved. Especially monsters and armors looks better. so if you're gonna start right now, maybe i'd instead suggest that mod.

My new mod is here: Vurt's G2 and CoM Graphics Overhaul at Gothic II Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)
this old mod will eventually be updated with its new textures (and CoM textures removed).

I would suggest it over this now 12 year old mod!

Wow great looking mod. I am using this in combination with the D3D11 Renderer and so far it works great and looks amazing. Especially the mountains make the game look a lot more impressive.
