The mod is constantly being tested for the best compatibility and performance, with the continuously developed and updated Union being its base. If encountered any problems with crashes, lagging, launching, and/or stuttering, refer to the guide of "THE CRASHING, LAGGING, AND STUTTERING" section on WoG.

At any point, do not NOT install:

- any extra script patches (like Fizzban's, Lord Sargon's, Gothic II Gold UnPatch, IronKeep Community Patch, Script Patch, etc.)
- any extra script extenders (like Ninja/LeGo/Ikarus)
- any extra non Union plugins/modkits/patches (like Free Aiming, Stamina, Better Torches, Lockpick Helper, First Mage Kit, Mana Regeneration, Item Map, Autosave, Show Game Time, Always Show Important Stats, etc.)
- any extra various fixes (like Steam Fix, 4GB Patch, LAA Fix, Gothic Report v2.6 Revision 2, Final Gothic II Gold EXE, etc.)
- any extra variables editor (GVE, manual hacks, etc.)
- any extra saved games editors/fixers (GIISGE, guides, tutorials, etc.)
- any extra SystemPacks (of any versions)

Because none of these are supported in any form, since they are either incompatible/not needed, or are covered/superseded by either the mod or the Union (or Union plugins [or will be by them at some point in future]) and, in some cases, their presence will result in bugs and crashes.

This also includes the already preinstalled plugins that come with the installer:

- UnionSneakFix
- UnionSpellFix
- zBugFixes
- zCollideFix
- zMiscUtils
- zModelExtender
- zParserExtender
- zTorchControl
- zTrollStoneThrowing

Due to undocumented installation procedures the well known Spine mod manager is not supported and is discouraged for installation of ANY packages/software/modkits!

-----------------------------

VERY IMPORTANT Mk I! The obligatory, packaged plugins in this version require all various VS C++ Redistributables, so install the newest package from this link: https://github.com/abbodi1406/vcredist/releases [v0.69.0 at the moment, but if there's newer, then get the newer] if you have a problem with initializing and/or launching, and you somehow can't use the same version that's included in the installer. Close any software when asked by the VS C++ installer(s) to do so *and* restart the computer after the overall installation, just to be 100% sure it's not the issue with this (since it's more often than not the issue with this, that is).

VERY IMPORTANT Mk II! All patch and plugin files that come with the archive are mandatory as well: lack of even one might result in weirdness, since it's a comprehensive package.

VERY IMPORTANT Mk III! It goes without saying that YAUP doesn't mix well with any other mods if they have their own extensive configurations, preferred archives, setting files, and/or animations/meshes/textures/worlds. This also refers to Union/Ninja plugins: don't expect the mod to play along nicely with whatever you might want to install, since it wasn't tested for compatibility with *everything* that's out there. That's your job, if you want anything particular that wasn't recognized by the developers.

VERY IMPORTANT Mk IV! You can install *without* any renderers being selected. What's more, you can run the installer again and only select one of the base modules and none of the advanced (but you can select the troubleshooting module) to get the previous renderer(s) removed. Finally, you can even run the installer again to cleanly reinstall the given renderer(s), by selecting only them (or it)!

VERY IMPORTANT Mk V! No matter what, never select both BASE or both ADVANCED options, or all four of them, or any other combination than one plus one, at once. This will end in disaster.

-----------------------------

ATTENTION: Windows might complain about YAUP_UNION.DLL and scan it for up to a minute (upon mod's unpacking and/or launching, so wait). But, ultimately, if anything looks wrong, make double sure it's inside X:\*Your YAUP Installation*\SYSTEM\AUTORUN directory, otherwise the mod won't launch at all and even if it somehow will, you're going to regret playing it in that state very soon.

-----------------------------

For your consistently great experience, if you somehow managed to manually install this mod, create a shortcut leading to your *Gothic2.exe* of the fresh installation from above (that's how this mod shall be launched through; not via the usual *GothicStarter.exe* or, god forbid, *GothicStarter_Mod.exe*). There's also the icon for YAUP in there, somewhere, so feel free to assign it to the newly made shortcut. Anyhow, once you got it, make sure the options below are on:

- "Change High DPI Settings", then "Override High DPI Scaling" enabled and set to "Application"
- "Disable Fullscreen Optimizations" enabled
- "Run As Administrator" enabled

You might need to set these options via the "Change Setting For All Users", by the way.

All of the above is available under the right click on *Gothic2.exe* executable. If the shortcut doesn't work and you can't set any of that yourself, then ignore and proceed to launch the mod via *Gothic2.exe* (but recheck the mentioned options at a later date, preferably after a consultation with Internet sources).

KNOWN MINOR BUGS/ISSUES:

- trolls might not start hurling boulders during the initial encounter; they might start doing that only after (re)loading a game
- you might *very rarely* notice the main character lost his ponytail upon (re)load; in such a case you will need to (un)(re)equip a helmet to get it back
- you might *very rarely* need to (un)(re)equip the shield in order to (re)gain the relevant 1h or shield stance, depending on your current skill
- the proper descriptions to certain items due to quirk/valor conditions will show only after (re)loading a game
- DX11 might have problem with disappearing GUI elements when Atmospheric Scattering is ON (or OFF if it was ON during the first launch and that was saved into the renderer's configuration file)

**********

KNOWN PLUGIN INCOMPATIBILITIES:

The main plugin in this mod has its own set of certain hooks that alters certain memory addressees. This is a problem, since certain plugins hooks the same spots, and that translates into conflicting issues and bugs.

- Advanced/Categorized Inventory
- Union Gothic Screen Info/zUtilities
- most likely any quicklooting

Report any bugs, most preferably with the description how to reproduce, in the #bugs section of the Discord server for this mod at: https://discord.gg/vq9Ppn83Cr (the easiest way for me to track and organize the entries). Lay any feedback on me at any point, whenever, wherever, but preferably in the #suggestions section of the mentioned Discord server. I might even read and choose not to ignore it.

Good luck.

PS. Read and consult the "Quick Reference" too. It's there for you, trust me.
