For some reason, after deleting the "doorstop_config.ini" and "changelog.txt" files, I was able to enter the game without receiving a console error.

7minute video where the actual content is covered in the first 2minutes mhh... it shows where you have to go and what to do but could do it better and faster.

ie: go to "*YourSteamDrive*\steamapps\common\Going Medieval\Going Medieval_Data\StreamingAssets\Data" -> "GameSettings.json" and change the parameter of "devTools" from "false" to "true".
Press Win+R and put "%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Foxy Voxel\Going Medieval" into the command line and hit Enter. Open "global.config" and change the parameter of "devTools" from "false" to "true".
Use Ctrl+F and type "devtools" in the searchfield to find the parameter more easily.

e1: the author of the video deleted my comment, which was the exact same as this one... i am considering this a red flag, use as you will.

For anyone wondering, this mod does still work (tested on the non-experimental branch, fishing and water update)

I deleted the entire Bepinx folder, and reinstalled using the 5.4.22 (LTS) version.
Then placed the mod plugin in the plugin folder and everything still works.

So I'm guessing in the Bepinx root folder, some cached files need to be deleted after a major game update?

Also a fun fact, this mod enables the dev menu, so new dev menu edits will also become available.
For example, you can now spawn fish etc... (latest game update).

I had this one too at the beginning with some leftover mods in my game directory.

The steps I did which worked for me:

      1) Delete Bepinx folder completely and the winhttp.dll
      2) verify steam game files (I had 6 files that failed)
      3) launched game
      4) installed Bepinx 5.4.22 LTS
      5) unblocked the winhttp.dll (Windows flagged it as unsafe)
      5) launched game
      6) placed the Dev Tool plugin in the bepin plugin folder
      7) unblocked the dev tool .dll
      7) Launched and finished

(Later I also installed the character edit mod, that one works now too. although the religion change no longer works but all the rest does)

A quick way to unblock all DLL's you downloaded in a directory using powershell is:
      dir -Path "C:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Going Medieval" -Recurse | Unblock-File

Between the quotation marks, you put your install directory of course.

It's a shame we can't use the dev menu to place water voxels but hey, I can add fishing spots now:

Indeed, works with Bepinx 5.4.22. As you wrote, I reinstalled Bepinx and now devtools are working!

Thank you for this Mod, it works wonderfully. I have 1 issue though. I can't seem to switch genders. The only animals that spawn are male. Is there a key to switch genders or to rotate types like for the statues?

Took me awhile to figure this out, but while you're still in the dev menu, when you go to click on the animal you want to spawn (example "animal_hare") hold the right mouse button then while holding RMB, click on it with the left mouse button. Now when you spawn the animal it'll be female, when you want to switch back to males, go back into the spawn animal page of the dev menu, and again hold the RMB and click on the animal you want to spawn with the LMB, back to spawning males.

Simply the only "must have" mod of them all. I find it works as advertised despite all the threads to the otherwise. I have had no problems using it.
However I would ask you to modify one item which does not work well as it should, and this is the "set hit points or health to 100". If you use this on gear it actually lowers the items to 100 when the item was originally higher. It should be set to 100%, or set to Max. Maybe even set to +100, which used more then once will add 100 points to the total each time .

    Keep up the great work
    Thanks

The mod didn't work on either for me (fresh game install, fresh mod+BepInEx install, never had the mod or BepInEx before). So here's a different solution without the need to install something:
Go to "*YourSteamDrive*\steamapps\common\Going Medieval\Going Medieval_Data\StreamingAssets\Data" and open "GameSettings.json" with Notepad and change the parameter of "devTools" from "false" to "true".
Press Win+R and put "%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Foxy Voxel\Going Medieval" into the command line and hit Enter. Open "global.config" and change the parameter of "devTools" from "false" to "true".
Alternatively, if you don't know what Win+R does: Open "My Computer" or press Win+E and navigate to "C:\Users\*YourAccountName*\AppData\LocalLow\Foxy Voxel\Going Medieval" and open "global.config" and change the parameter of "devTools" from "false" to "true".

Use Ctrl+F and type "devtools" in the searchfield to find the parameter more easily.

For me, the above solution only worked on the experimental branch, game version 0.16.9, Update #10 Water & Fishing. (2023-12-09)

Too bad this only works on experimental branch, for stable release this mod still works best.

I tested on 0.16.9 and confirmed it was working.
