Well sadly, world doesn't revolve around you kiddo. Mod author doesn't know you, why did he need to care about the fact that you're not going to touch it? Also, you can always upgrade your account to premium to uncap the download speed. But here you are, whining on the mod author on your own flaws, comical.
If you had taken the time to read the mod description you would know why the file is so ridiculously large. If you can come up with a better solution instead of complaining of someones FREE work, then be my guest.
The reason this is 18.7gb is to make it a simple drag and drop modification to a base game file (This is a full data file of the game with some modified entries). The alternative is you unpack your own forge file find the battle belt and ever edit or remove it then repack it. The process alone to most would take longer than a 18gb download. Also its explained in the description why it is how it is.
This mod is so fucking cool because it's not only for you the belt is removed but the other people can't see it either which makes no sense but I love it, but the 18gbs is the downside I guess... worth it tho!
I just wanted to thank the person who made this mod, I'm kind of new to PC gaming and specially modding games (used to play on consoles) I literally abandoned this game on Playstation because once you notice the silly floating battle belt, you can't stop focusing on it while playing, which also gives the impression of extending the character's upper body to ridiculous proportions
I'm currently playing this game on Steam Deck now, and I was kind of afraid to mess around stuff I don't quite understand or know, but now I'm glad I did, one little detail makes a lot of difference. Makes me wandered why Ubisoft never bothered themselves to fixing it
Anyway, excellent job from the author of this mod, sort of scary but easy to apply the mod following the instructions, and it worked perfectly...Thank you
Thank you. That friggin' belt has bugged me to no end. Before they at least had Cpt. Mitchell's shirt to go without the belt. But, if you recall, they patched it so that even that shirt had the ugly-ass belt as well xD
This saved my playthrough as I just couldn't stop looking at it. The model is on the wank on female body shapes as well, making it look even worse xD
