    1) Hey, so to the few that would, please don't waste your breath telling me you don't think the game "needs" ReShade. I never said it did. Mods are about providing people with options. I think the vanilla game looks great, but we all have different taste and even want different visuals for different moods or role playing scenarios.

    2) To everyone else, thanks so much for giving my work a try, I've dedicated dozens and dozens of hours to creating and testing these ReShade presets since the game launched into early access. I really appreciate your time :)

FYI I just installed this and ran it successfully with the latest ReShade (4.9.1 at the time of this writing 5/13/2021).  In order to get this to work with the Uplay Plus Version of this game (Not steam version) here is what needs to be done:

    - Download latest ReShade version (4.9.1)
    - Uninstall BattleEye using the bat file and set silent install to 0 to prevent reinstallation
    - Install the latest Metalhead Visual Overhaul Collection - Enhanced Graphics and Cinematic Effects with DoF updates from the FILES section
    - You will get an error within ReShade about qUINT_lightroom.fx not compiling properly
    - Grab the updated version of qUINT_lightroom.fx from the git repro (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/martymcmodding/qUINT/master/Shaders/qUINT_lightroom.fx) - the fix changes the values of CurvesStruct and PalletStruct from static to const
    - Overwrite the updated qUINT_lightroom.fx in the \reshade-shaders\Shaders directory
    - Restart Ghost Recon and it will compile correctly and load properly

I think its a bit too green, however its a great reShade mod - awesome work

is there anyway to get this thing work with VULKAN not dx11 ? vulkan gives me %15 better performance for this game but reshade doesnt work in vulkan api and game immediately crashes after shader compiling. it is a shame this game doesnt work with reshade in vulkan where rdr2 works.. or is there something im missing ?

I've never got ReShade to work with the Vulkan version of this game. If you followed the same steps you did to get ReShade working with Vulkan in RDR2, then unfortunately i think it may just never work with the Vulkan version of this game. I wish it worked with it too as I get better performance with the Vulkan version as well.

don't know if you ever figured out but i got mine to work.
uninstall BattlEye from the game folder using "uninstall_BattlEye.bat" then in BELauncher.ini, change SilentInstall to 0.
When you launch the game, itll ask you to redownload BattEye, just hit cancel and the game will launch normally with Reshade, including any version of it :]
this is how i got mine to work with Vulkan and it runs perfectly.
Make sure you get the updated qUINT_lightroom.fx with directions from the pinned comment as well.

Hey - I've this mostly working, in Vulkan too (thanks to Antebell's comment!) but the focus makes my player model blurred out, and the rest of the game not, is there an adjustment I need to make? Followed all the steps Nullusername posted as well. Thanks in advance.

    how it looks:

Hey that's awesome you got it working with Vulkan! I'll have to figure out why I just cant get any Vulkan game to work with ReShade one day, but this game runs SOOO much better in Vulkan it's crazy. Anyway, the focus issue is a simple fix.

      1) Pop open the reshade menu
      2) Around the middle there's a button that divides the menu in half that says something like "Edit Preprocessor Definitions"
      3) Click that and change the value next to "Depth_Buffer_Is_Reveresed" from whatever 0 to 1 (Or if it already says 1, then change it to 0).
      4) Click anywhere outside the reshade menu which saves the changes

That should be it. Lemme know if that doesn't work. And please check back soon as I've been working on a major overhaul and expansion of this whole mod collection. I may even just put it on a new mod page since it adds many more things and new presets.

      Cheers,
      Merc

Thank you so much, that worked! I should have said in my first post, but planned on in my reply - thank you in general, you've done a crackin' job with this, it's fantastic, and you can feel the love for GR when you load it up, it's such a cool perspective change, it feels so gritty and cinematic. Great work.

Note to other players struggling to get Vulkan & Reshade working: I'm using Reshade 5.4.2 - it seems 4.9.1 has issues with vulkan and this game, so I could only get it working with d3d9. 5.4.2 everything works fine and most importantly, in vulkan, but follow AnteBells steps:

      Antebell - "

      • uninstall BattlEye from the game folder using "uninstall_BattlEye.bat"
      • then in BELauncher.ini, change SilentInstall to 0.
      • When you launch the game, it'll ask you to redownload BattEye, just hit cancel and the game will launch normally with Reshade, including any version of it :]

This is how i got mine to work with Vulkan and it runs perfectly."

I will def check back, 100% - One other thing, when I am playing and I scroll too left or too right, my cursor moves past the edge of the game and on to my desktop, on the monitors either side of my main monitor, even though the game is in fullscreen mode. I've been looking online for a solution since I believe it is reshade specifically, but you being experienced in this field, I'm hoping maybe you might have experienced this and have an idea on how to fix it.

EDIT (Potential temp fix): I noted that pausing the game and unpausing it seemed to lock the mouse within the game so I could infinitely aim around me without flying out on to a desktop screen. Not sure this is THE ultimate solution, but thought I'd share it.

Aside from that, I loved the setup for this, and I tried some settings that I found suited my own personal tastes, so I thought I'd share - nothing major.

      1. I changed the focus adjustment speed in the aDOF from 0.324 down to 0.124, just for close quarter combat moments, the speed of the switch back felt very sudden. I'll probably still mess with this a bit more.

      2. I changed the far blur curve up to 2.5 from 2.32 to reduce the intensity a bit.

      3. I reduced the bokeh intensity from 0.667 (? I think?) to 0.467.

Overall, felt more gradual and less intense for my own personal preferences, as I say, you've done a wonderful job so by no means am I saying your settings aren't banging. Thank you again and I cannot wait for the update, seriously, I am addicted to this way of playing already.

Hey! I installed your reshade and got it working. Now I'm just wondering what fx are supposed to be on. I use the vivid preset and the fx that turns on are AdaptiveSharpen.fx, Lightroom.fx, ADOF, BloomAndLensFlares. Should I turn on any more fx or is it supposed to be only these 4?

Possibly. But i'm almost done redoing the whole mod with revamped presets and new presets with new and refined features. It'll be for the brand new ReShade 6.0 framework, which has a very different and easy installation process.

Just gimme a few more days I think. Maybe a week.

After getting reshade to successfully run and recognize the presets, it says they are completely blank in the techniques box. The only thing to not is that the presets are independent files within the Ghost Recon folder, or were they supposed to be kept under the Metalhead reshade collection?

Which version of ReShade framework did you download? Please use the version of ReShade that I linked in the description and follow those instructions rather than the usual ReShade installation process.

I'll be revamping this mod soon to use the newer version of the ReShade framework if you want to wait.

      Hope this helps!

    Does it impact graphics performance?

Yes, all ReShade presets will impact performance to varying degrees. But you can disable it at the click of a button from in game and get your vanilla FPS and visuals back instantly and toggle it back on again for comparison. So I would say to give it a try and see if you're still happy with your FPS. You can disable various effects within the preset as well with the hotkeys I set up, this will also increase performance.

Did you deliberately add black bars top and bottom?
