About this mod

A texture and model replacement for the HK416 Assault, Scout, or baseline variants, converting them into something more akin to the Geissele URG-I, used by US Army Special Operations Command in real life.

HK416 Assault and base variants are depreciated (but should still be compatible with the updated textures).

M4A1 Assault and HK416 Scout variants are the main, up-to-date variants for this, out of convenience and to maintain compatibility with my R5 RGP mod.

Finally, the Ghosts get a rifle properly befitting their status as US Army special forces.

You can install one, two, or all three of the attached zips. Each fileset converts either the HK416 Scout, Assault, or Baseline versions to use the HK416 Assault handguard. The texture files for the handguard are redundant (all 3 filesets use the same textures).

The following changes are made to the HK416:
- Removal of the magwell grips on the HK416 Assault and HK416 Scout. Due to modding constraints, the grip is replaced by a non-replaceable AFG. If I figure out how to properly and fully delete it, I will update this feature.
- Replacement of the 30rd STANAG and 50rd STANAG magazines with PMAGs.
- Replacement of the EXPS3/G33 attachment with the Micro T1/G33 scope. The reticle is unchanged, due to modding constraints.
- Replacement of the standard muzzle with the Surefire Warcomp (in-game the 7.62 NATO flash hider)
- A retexture of the HK416 Assault handguard to match the anodized tan color of USASOC URG-I handguards IRL. The handguard is now non-recolorable, and will remain in that tan color regardless of what camouflage you select for the weapon

Installation instructions
Disable BattleEye if you are need:
  • Go to your GRB directory and open the BattlEye folder.
  • Open BELauncher.ini and set SilentInstall to 0.
  • Save the file and run the Uninstall_BattlEye.bat.
  • Add the command line argument "/belaunch -be" in your launcher.
  • At next Startup click Cancel on the BattleEye PopUp (you may check "Do not ask me again.").

Installation:
  • Download and install AnvilToolkit.
  • Set up Anvil Toolkit, disable the use of compression in Settings->Files and set compression ratio to 0.
  • Unpack DataPC_Resources_patch_01.forge
  • Open Extracted folder in your GRB directory and open the DataPC_Resources_patch_01.forge folder.
  • Paste files from HK416_to_URGI folder into the DataPC_Resources_patch_01.forge/Extracted subfolder. If the Extracted subfolder doesn’t exist, create it. Your file path should look like Extracted/DataPC_Resources_patch_01.forge/Extracted/(your mod folders here)
  • Select the added folders in AnvilToolkit, right-click, and select "Repack" - you should see the message
     Finished repacking data files | Successful: 13 | Failed: 0
  • Head back up to the top-level Extracted folder in AnvilToolkit and click on DataPC_Resources_patch_01.forge
  • Right-click the folder, and select "Repack" - you should see the message

    Successfully written forge file!
  • After it's done repacking, you can delete the Extracted folder if you so desire. I don't recommend it, though, since there'll be more mods like this to come, and you'll probably want to install them!

Note: The model changes do not show up in the Gunsmith menu, but will be reflected in-game.

Note 2: With the HK416 Scout version of this mod installed, you cannot use the bipods. They'll float behind the gun, as the rigging does not exist for the bipod attachments and the HK416 Assault/Baseline handguards.

Note 3: With the HK416 baseline version of this mod installed, the short barrel will clip into the handguard. You probably shouldn't use it.

Also, model replacement is currently in an extremely limited and experimental state in-game. Please keep that in mind before asking for sweeping changes, model swaps, or what have you.
