Is it possible to completely remove loot respawning or to set the timer so high that it couldn't be reached in a normal playthrough? I wish it was possible to disable it
I would really much like to do that as well. I received confirmation from one of the developers that they won't officially add support to disable loot respawns as part of their latest patch to the game.
I might be mistaken, but if you check the files for this mod, there is a "loot respawn in 1 month" file. I was looking for the same thing as you guys and this seems to be exactly that. I'm going to give it a try and recommend you do too!
I'm pretty sure this 1 month version of the mod wasn't there last time I checked, that's good. If you tried it, I would be curious to know if it works with the current version of the game.
This is a VERY late reply, but people enjoy things differently than you do. What is fun or likable for you can be tedious and boring for others. Maybe they have run the game a few times already and just want to blow through the game superman style. Perhaps there is a person visiting for a short time and they just won't have the time to really get into the game. Your experience is YOUR experience. Have a good time.
Remember Outriders? The final battle was stupid. Nothing but bullet sponges and the boss getting healed. I watched 4 very talented streamers take 30 minutes to beat that boss. So I opted out. I set it to the easiest mode, and then killed it. 30 minutes to kill a boss is just way too long. I'm tired of it by that point.
Same with looting. I don't want to spend days looting and collecting small trees to get a single piece of wood. I don't like the game so much that I want to just run around the map collecting wood so I can build and repair bases. That is NOT my idea of fun. I've been collecting every scrap of wood I can find for days, and the very first base cleaned me out of wood before I even finished the base. Is the base bigger than most people build? Maybe, but I don't care. If you want to get just one piece of wood from each tree, and have to literally spend time just fetching items, you have at it. I'll mod that tedious aspect of the game out, thank you very much.
I also had to laugh, after I harvest a Tree and see the ridiculous small amount of wood, getting out from it.
Also, the refining of Uran, Aluminum and Wolfram/Tungsten. You first need to find the Mat, and then need to do a ridiculous amount of Base Defense, to get refined material. And then even while fighting hordes of enemies, you have to cool down the Melter? While get shoot by firebirds, runners, wolves, lynx and hunters? Sounds like a lot of fun to me ^^
And then, the grind for EX Weapons, you need to grind Rivals for Coordinates, and then spawn in the 2 Boss Machines, that one of them... already bugged 2 times of 3 times for me? Not that funny.
my game is stuck on the loading screen when i put in --vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archive archives_win64/initial --vfs-archive archives_win64/supplemental --vfs-archive archives_win64/optional
for launch options
fixed it i deleted these folders C:\Users\whatever the name is\Documents\Avalanche Studios\GenerationZero\Cache just to make sure you understand i deleted the Cache folder ^ C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GenerationZero\dropzone i deleted the dropzone folder ^
I want to express my gratitude to the author of the mod for the monthly version. Why the developers have not yet introduced this option is unclear, but this mod allows you to use all aspects of creating items and much more deliberately approach the destruction of opponents, knowing that resources are limited and it will be impossible to return to the already passed locations and collect ammunition again. Your ammo supply is no longer infinite and is replenished only from killed enemies or by creating from extracted materials. Thanks again for the monthly version and I really hope that the author will keep it up to date.
I was wondering if its possible to make enemies respawn quicker ?
For example I get on my bike and cycle from one place to another and when I cycle back not fast travel there are enemies waiting for me ?
I noticed the game world is huge but there's hardly any machines to kill in any random area when exploring the land in between main missions and side missions.
They say you can exit the game and load the game and there'll be enemies but I don't want to keep doing that.
I mean if loot can respawn why can't enemies ?
Please if you know of a way to do this, can you show us ?
I'm having the same issue .. Pulled mod and it seem to be as it was .. but after reinstalling, no respawn now that I put mod back into dropzone folder. This is using the 15 minute version Have a good New Year
I forgot .. one reason for pulling mod out the first time .. The quest at the church to make med-kit for the Girl would not work .. everytime I checked the 2 bags, there was nothing in them .. I looked at the mod content .. and .. you are missing those 2 bags, so after pulling the mod .. I could complete that quest.
After completing the quest, I reinstalled and now it not working as it was.
Is this mod supposed to change the loot tables? Because without the mod typically there are 3 items in certain containers: for example - some ammo, random crafting resourse like glue or explosives, and maybe a flare or two. With this mod loot in containers never contains crafting resources, was it intended change? And unrelated question: what difference does it make if i use --vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archivearchives_win64/initial --vfs-archive archives_win64/supplemental --vfs-archive archives_win64/optional
or --vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archive archives_win64/initial --vfs-archive archives_win64/supplemental --vfs-archive archives_win64/optional --vfs-fs . as launching parameter?

and two, can YOU see what a grind all of this collecting is?

EDIT: It works now. Overwriting the old mod in the dropzone folder with a fresh one fixed it.
I love more difficult looting
