hey. trying to make my own mod. I am able to edit coalesced_int.bin and update the TOC file fine. I also unencrypted default.xex with xextool. However, I can't figure out what change you have to make in default.xex. I know you change the 20 bytes after coalesced_int.bin but I don't know what value to put there. My assumption was the MD5 hash but that's too short and not what you put there.
Can you help educate me on what 20 byte value I need to put into default.xex and how to calculate it?
Thanks for the mod. I saw a line in the 1.2 update : ResX=1920 ResY=1080 Does this mean that you've changed the game's internal resolution to 1080P? If so it doesnt seem to work for me. All other changes seems to work pretty good. I'm using the latest xenia canary ATM.
How exactly do you install the update? I've tried putting its "tweaks" folder in a 00000002 and a 000B0000 folder but no matter what I do the game just doesn't seem to acknowledge the update's existence. Am I doing something wrong?
Not understanding. If you have a default.xex from the extraction process then you do not require an iso. Open Xenia, File -> Open and check your 'Supported Files' on the bottom right corner of the window to see what options your version supports.
There has been no extraction process, the ISO file has been downloaded
I had to unpack the ISO to install your mod, and Xenia does not run the .xex as it crashes on the most recent versions, and I am using the most up to date version of Xenia.
Playing from the ISO works fine in Xenia, hence why I have said to you, your mod does not work because you would then need to pack the ISO back up, and there are no tools for that.
Maybe English is not your first langauge, I don't know but I can't explain it any other way that what I have already stated.
Again, your mod does not work for Xania users, that is the long and short of it.
Maybe putting in the mods description what version you are using, and what version you have tested your mod on would be common to put.
Very interesting. I´ve seen your other uploads for GoW 3 and Judgement, and i´m very impressed by it. I guess "Removed Motion Blur and Depth of Field" is valid for GoW 2 too? Or hasn´t this Game these effects?
I couldn't do it for GoW 2. That game's files are weird in that I can't add or subtract extra values from them.
So for example if shotgun damage = 2.0 then I can change it to 5.0 but not 50.0 as it requires adding an extra digit. The same applies to checking motion blur = false instead of true. Too many values.
Hey again. Did you yet had any time to look at this again? I know you already explained it, but maybe you found a different approach by now. I just tested this again and this Motion Blur is just simply awful. Back then years ago on the original console i had no problems with this effect, but nowadays i don´t understand how someone can even appreciate it without vomiting. You can really tell the difference when it´s deactivated like in your other Mods for GoW 3 and Judgement. So i just want to ask if you had any success since then? Thank you.
Actually, yeah. I literally read your comment today and then a lightbulb struck.. I remembered that I can add changes using text documents. I just uploaded the 1.2 update.
i don't understand where to install or put the 1.2 update?? the first one was easy by extracting iso , adding files and rebuilding iso (iso was smaller btw...how come?)
If you're using console jtag then: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=jtag+title+updates For xenia emulator, the tweaks folder goes to documents/xenia/content/[gameid]/00000002/

"if you have an ISO then google search a xbox 360 iso extractor, extract the iso and then install the mod files. done".
Apart from it isn't done though, because once you have extracted an Iso into file form, Xenia can't read it because it needs to be an Iso.
Xenia also can't read "Xex" because it's not compatible with the game.
So how do you re-complie the game back into an ISO for Xenia to read it?
Maybe you should have put in your mods description on how to do that because right now your mod does not work for emulators.
Thank you

Just saying.
Also grabbed a fresh iso, extracted it and the mod's .xex still manages to run.
Your specific iso is the incompatibility with the mod I'm thinking.
Can you link were your stuff is from so I can test myself.
I got Xenai from here: https://xenia.jp/download/
Google drive or something, or Discord.
Thank you

Didn´t expect any answer on the same day. :D
Thank you for your work.
