Well, for anyone interested, I found the conflict. It was in the "Moss Planets" folder. I eliminated the DLC4 files in both the game & text subfolders and everything, including my custom races and my own modded file, works fine. Perhaps this is because I don't have that DLC, only Crusades and Intrigue...I don't know..but I am happy as can be since I can now use your mod !
I have all DLC except "Heroes of Star Control : Origins". The "bug", which forces me to skip something twice when the game starts, occures nevertheless. I can't see any consequences, though. I didn't delete the folders you described, because I don't know for which DLC they are. So please: What exactly is "DLC 4"?
Anjybelle, I think Precursor Worlds DLC what Mossman's mod refers to as "DLC4". Since you have everything but "Heroes..." I'm not sure what may be causing your problem. It took me quite a bit of digging to finally find my conflict. Try uinstalling all DLC's and then adding them back in one at a time. That may help pinpoint the DLC causing the problem. The game has also had a major patch on the 21st, so I'm not sure what that has done. I haven't tried playing again since the update.
In the meantime I did many things and believe, that it is not this mod which causes trouble. The newest DLC "Retribution" seems to have great problems with anything - be it a totally legal created custom race or any mod. Further I think - although I am not able to give a halfways plausible explanation - that some custom pics (Leader portraits, FG and BG) are causing issues, too. The game is playable without the latest DLC and perhaps even "Retribution" would work if totally unmodded. I disabled Reribution and wait some months. Perhaps some patches and hotfixed will make it, too, playable with mods.
I don't really care about using a saved game. A new game is fine for me. The issue now is the mod will not run. I have version 3.05 with Crusades and Intrigue DLC's and the game crashes when trying to create the galaxy. I have tried a variety of things by trial and error ( deleting my own modifications, no custom races, etc.) but when I enable this mod, the game crashes. I know you can't really tell me what is wrong, but I thought you should know. I haven't tried it with the 3.10 Beta that just released, but I'm betting that's a no go also. I REALLY wanted to use your mod's data instead of Stardock's. I opened some of your files and really liked the changes I saw. Oh, well...thanks for your time and work on the mod. Maybe I'll try one "submod" folder at a time and see what happens.
Do you know if this would be compatible with a saved game? I just started a new game and I like the setup around my home world, so I saved the game before actually doing anything yet. Maybe this would be compatible??Thanks for your time and work on this mod, by the way!
Nice mod.! I have a bug to report: Xeno Entertainment and its follow-up techs don't show up in the tech tree. The issue is easily fixed by changing the prerequisite tech from "Translator" to "TranslatorTech" in the tech definitions file.
It was working it just provided 20RP instead of the vanilla finish project, it wasn't showing the description though. I didn't have an issue with it breaking my game. Anyway, I fixed it in the new version, so hopefully it works as intended now.
Should be with just the race mod. His anomaly and ideology mods alter some of the same files but if you want to use those mods you'll have to choose which mods to give priority but it should all still be compatible.
nice addition of info and i also like how you made chunks of the mods into almost mini mods. will try it out once i get the expansion. BTW is the new expansion required?
