Hi guys! New version 1.1.0 is out, which is compatible with 1.1.0 of the game and brings back the old changes, taking into account the reduced production of steam delivered by the newest patch of the game. Please let me know if there are any issues.
Honestly, I would rather not ;) I have already deleted Frostpunk 2 and its ModKit. I was really hoping the patch fixed all problems. Are you sure this is not the case? That would be a huge disappointment. If this is actually true I might go take another look. It may take a few days though.
As far as I understand, choosing Intake Optimisation for Steam should always prioritize it. The patch notes atleast state that. I know that this is not the best economic solution as you will always be using more coal and/or oil than steam, but it atleast should allow you to take advantage of steam. Please let me know if this is not the case.
Anyway, I have decided to take another look at this issue. Downloading FP2 right now. I will check what problems still persist and if a new version of the mod is necessary and feasible. Stay tuned.
Edit: tbh I don't see the problem. If you use Intake Optimisation steam, it will use all steam. Like I said, I understand this is not always ideal, but at the point where this matters, you have stabilized enough to win anyway. On Generator Level 1 there might be a possibility where oil is burned before steam, however, oil is rare in the early game, and on maps with this much oil you are probably better off with Progress anyway. I would recommend to wait for patches that adress this completely instead of me creating a new version of the mod just to have it break again on the next update they release.
Truly FP2's updates breaking existing mods is annoying ;( Agreed with your thoughts, with steam prioritized it will run steam -> oil -> coal, which at least will not waste the steam ;) Maybe 11bit just want to reuse existing implementation, not rewriting another mechanism to force prioritize certain resource ;)
Anyway current implementation should usually enough as you said :)
BTW With adaption lv.1 the order is: oil -> steam -> coal
Tried this out and after rebuilding the steam extraction district my steams heat production was 4x as efficient. Twice as efficient than fuel without any other fuel types. Not working as intended.
Can I be demanding and ask for a version of this that just flat out makes steam 3x efficient? Ah, I think that would just mean x3 heat? It makes sense that steam would be more efficient, that's what heats and powers everything already! The only reason we need coal/oil is to produce steam! No efficiency loss on steam from the ground to steam in the pipes is way more realistic than the current system, ya? But either way, thanks for the mod - seriously, this is an actual lifesaver. I can finally stockpile oil!

Not 100% sure they might have fixed one of the steam preference issues.
FYI my test(I use a trainer to test, might slightly different? prioritize coal):
Coal 50 -> 150 (depleted)
Oil 251 -> 627 (depleted)
Gas 72 -> 108 (with surplus)
