Put back all the original ship explosions and updated the custom ships accordingly
Original Mission and News textures updated by BC46
Added turrets to Nomad Gates, all allied with the Order, should give some protection from the Nomads
Updated the Edingburgh system to show Skye Ice asteroid field in missions correctly
Tidied up Tau 37 and increased view distances there

A custom dll has been removed due to a conflict with some scanners
Mod defaults to borderless window when you first fire it up. Handy if you're doing things on a second monitor. The downside is it makes the mod a little darker and disables the gamma slider. If this is too dark for you, press ALT+ENTER to go full screen and return to normal brightness.
Added a new dll that gives the names of zones like asteroid fields and nebulas as you enter them. Also gives you a leave message as you exit them
Engine volume for the Razid and Marsflyer increased

Updated all the custom dll plugins to current versions, as some were causing issues with text displays in the left hand HUD due to their age.
Various HD textures updated by BC46 from his Freelancer HD edition mod, available on MODDB. These include updated base interiors and planetscapes, nebula textures, house ship textures for Liberty, Bretonia, Kusari and Rheinland, also updated ship textures for all the pirate fleets and all commercial ships
I've left the various faction licences in the game which is a leftover from my Multiplayer (MP) version of Genesis. You can ignore these if you want. These will work in game, if you choose to do a bit of roleplay, be aware npc ships know about the licences and will act accordingly
Included the CONSOLE plugin by Adoxa. Use sparingly. This gives you numerous functions in game, including opening up the map, giving yourself loads of money, being able to transport yourself all over the map. Bear in mind the fun of this game is finding things out for yourself, but i know some of you are limited on time which is why i've reluctantly included this. Hit 'ENTER' in game and type in your command. Use the HELP function for all commands. If you type 'SHOW', all will be revealed on the map

The Sol system addon, comprising ten systems that have been added (each planet has its own system) is very, very loosely based on Mephistopholes' Sol mod. I have re-textured all of the planets used, using the latest NASA satellite images. I've redone all the solar infocards for all the systems, using up to date information and made all the minor moons available to see on the navmap and positioned them to taste. Systems have been resized as well. In fact there's not a lot left of his mod at all, but i did start out with it as a basis for the Sol systems, so only fair it gets a mention.

Only a few years have passed since the Nomad Wars, but the pirate situation in the border worlds has now reached epidemic proportions. Many of the larger factions now have larger craft to attack the unsuspecting trader or company transport. The war of words between the Corsairs and Red Hessians has now escalated to all out war, with Omega 5 declared a designated warzone. Enter at your peril.

The smaller pirate factions seem to have been upgrading as well, with many now using small and maneuverable freighters to ferry various goods to their bases. These small convoys are not the easy pickings they once were, and caution is advised should you decide to attack.

While the Nomads were resolutely beaten during the war, "it's only a matter of time before they return" claimed Edison Trent, Liberty representative of the Order and hero of the Nomad Wars who has been monitoring the situation. There have been many reported sightings already in numerous systems, with the house naval forces on a heightened state of alert.

The discovery of an asteroid eating spacefaring lifeform, the 'Razid', has caused a major stir in academic circles. This creature apparently consumes the minerals it finds in the asteroids for nourishment. It's eggs have become somewhat of a collectors item due to the high concentration of a diamond like substance which is much sought after for research purposes. The four main houses have declared the 'Razid' creature a protected species, with heavy penalties aimed at anyone caught in possession of the valuable eggs.

The emergence of the Simian Trade Federation was another major coup for the Zoners after one of their pilots came to the aid of a stricken convoy populated by an intelligent Simian species, capable of spaceflight. The Simians major export, banana beer, is now a favourite tipple of the masses. Its numbers are controlled by the Zoners who are undermanned to say the least regarding the distribution of this most popular beverage. Much favoured by the pirate clans as well, some in the press claim that the 'Beer Wars' have started, with many convoys coming under attack from pirates. Many independent traders have sought to locate the source of this magnificent brew, but the Zoners are staying very tight-lipped about the location of the Simian homeworld, preferring to sell you the item themselves. Search at your own risk.

A major upgrade across Sirius has been the update of the popular tradelane system by Ageira Technologies. They claim their new tradelanes are easier to dock with, plus they can be seen from much farther away due to their new 'Illumo�' lighting system. Dock with one today to experience it!

A more bizarre rumour currently doing the rounds in many space bars, is the alleged sighting of a sleeper ship motoring at speed through the outer reaches of some systems. Some would say the pilots who claim to have seen the ship, have had a bottle or two too many. The major houses have sent out a few ships in an attempt to try and track the vessel, assuming it exists of course! If it does exist, the obvious question is who built it? Is there anyone aboard? More importantly, where have they been? More on this when we have something to report.

Sol has been rediscovered and re-colonised by the Four Houses. There's plenty to do and rebuild, although a heavy Nomad presence has also been detected. Pirates have also flocked to humanity's home system. Traders beware.

THE MOD

The Genesis mod is a major revamp of the original Freelancer code. I've gone through each system and altered things as i'd like to see them, fixed numerous original errors and added in plenty of missing items from the original game. There are various updates which visually enhance the game including in no special order,
