You said you need to remove your filesystem for it to work, I did but I also want to keep my packed .bfs mods, do I need to unpack those files too or do something else?
I think you'll need to unpack the gamefiles first, then unpack those mods and copy paste them over the gamefiles you unpacked. And then unpack my mod files, also copy paste them onto the other files. I'm not sure it will work, but logicly this would be a way of installing. Hope this helps. Cheers
The tools are for unpacking the encrypted gamefiles from flatout. After unpacking you can easly acces the now 'loose' files, and edit them directly from the gamefolder.
Normally after editing you could repack the gamefiles, but i always got errors after extensive editing, so i play with unpacked gamefiles. which gives no difference at all performance wise, except the game requires a bit more harddrive space.
Could anyone help me out with running FO:UC unpacked? I have unpacked the data.bfs so I have the data folder with all of its unpacked sub folders in it, but if I delete the filesystem file (as instructed in various posts around the net on the subject) I simply get an error message about not being able to find the data/language/version.ini file. But it's right there! In the unpacked data/language folder!
It seems as if it is still looking for the data.bfs and ignoring the loose files :(
I am 100% okay with this; this game has NEEDED modding support for a long time and I'm so glad it's finally getting the love it deserves. Can't wait to see the further potential!
Wow. It's been a while since I played Flat Out. Might have a go at it again soon because it was a fun game with great graphics and helter-skelter circuits through farmer's fields and barnyards.

1 - Open BFS3pack_smart_gui
Then drag the data.bfs archive located in your flatout directory, onto the panel from the bfsunpacker.
it will then start to extract from the archive.
this can take some time,....... after that,...
2 - Repeat the process with streamed.bfs.
3 - Delete the file "filesystem" from your flatout folder
Now your files are unpacked.
(Mod) 4 - Extract the contents of the cockpit mod, into your flatout folder,
when asked to replace, click yes to all....

Damn so sorry for the late reply.
Did you unpack the streamed.bfs file to?
I don't get why i didn't include instructions on how to unpack flatout.
But normally you've done it correct only unpack the "streamed.bfs" file to.
After that it should work!
Again sorry for the late reply!
Hope this fixes the errors!
