    ReShade only working once or not showing up:

    I believe this should be fixed in the latest version (it was in my extensive testing anyway), give a try and let me know in the comments below :)

    I added a new install tutorial video showing the latest install process to the file description.

    Or you can go here:

    https://youtu.be/Ryi4BbcDACk

    Either way, there you have it! A simple visual install guide in real time, showing it working ;)

    I have UNX 0.9.1.9 and tried reshade files from March, still can't get this to work. I'm not forcing any AA in Nvidia driver

      Are you following the video or trying to use external ReShade? Also do you have any other overlay software running like riva statistics tuner etc...?

      Think it was Riva Tuner, it was also causing issue with the other mods. Thanks for that.

      Yes project X has a warning about Riva tuner, and not to use it somewhere either in the documentation or in the steam forum comments.

    I had the issue of Reshade only working once and was messing around with a bunch of other settings until I noticed that after restarting my computer, it would work normally again. After some more tinkering and testing, I've figured out what's causing the issue of Reshade only loading once: Steam.

    I'm not exactly sure what about Steam is conflicting with it (my guess is some sort of overlay, but I've tried disabling both the main overlay and BPM overlay and it didn't work). However, if you completely exit Steam and then relaunch your game, Reshade will start working again. For a better workaround, I've stopped using the game shortcut that Steam created and just went into the game directory and made a new one linking to the launcher/FFX.exe directly. This way, you can bypass Steam and just launch the game without it starting so Reshade won't stop working after the first time. Note: this direct shortcut workaround can glitch out UnX+Reshade together though, so you may have to just do it the normal way and shut down Steam every time Reshade stops working.

    Hopefully this helps people suffering from the same issue and someone smarter than I am can figure out what's the conflict between the two and how to possibly fix it.

    If you installed "Untitled" Project X using this link: https://wiki.special-k.info/SpecialK/Custom/UnX and this reshade doesn't work.
    How to make reshade work:

    1. Download and extract this "FFX ReShade 3 with UnX 0.9.x Compatibility -Catachrism preset" into the game folder.

    2. Download this archive: https://github.com/Kaldaien/SpecialK/releases/download/sk_0_8_50/SpecialK_0_8_66.7z
    In the archive, in the \PlugIns\Unofficial\ReShade\ folder, find and unpack these files to the root of the folder with the game:
    ReShade32.dll
    ReShade32.pdb
    ReShade32_SpecialK32.dll
    ReShade32_SpecialK32.pdb

    3. Open the ReShade32.ini file in the game folder with notepad and paste the following lines:

    Find [GENERAL] and paste below it:

    CurrentPresetPath=.\ReShade\FFX.ini
    EffectSearchPaths=.\ReShade\Shaders
    TextureSearchPaths=.\ReShade\Textures
    TutorialProgress=4

    4. Open the dxgi.ini file in the game folder with notepad and paste this at the very bottom of this file:

    [Import.ReShade32]
    Architecture=Win32
    Role=ThirdParty
    When=PlugIn
    Filename=ReShade32.dll

    There should be 1 empty line above [Import.ReShade32].

    5. In the game, press "shift + f2" if you need to configure hotkeys or other reshade settings.

    Sorry for spamming but is there a way to access other reshade filters? Your presets are good but I want to experiment

    I can only seem to get one or the other working out of the two programs - whatever I installed more recently. I'm thinking I need to uninstall and reinstall everything but I can't seem to find the golden order that makes everything work at once.

    Hi. I, for some reason, still have to close Steam and run the game without it to get ReShade to load. It doesn't even load once after Steam is restarted. I decided to list the things I've tried:

    Disabling Steam overlay: didn't work
    Changing res to 900p and restarting game = didn't work
    Applying the "run this program as administrator" (for all users) on all 4 .exes = didn't work
    Setting IgnoreResolution=1 in ReShade32.ini = It was already set to 1
    Opting out of the Betas = Apparently, I wasn't even opted into any betas to begin with)
    Closing Steam COMPLETELY and just starting the game by double-clicking the launcher's .exe = IT WORKED! (but why?)
    Things I've tried to get it to load WITH Steam:
    Moving the install folder to the C: drive = didn't work
    Re-applying the "run this program as administrator" (for all users) on all 4 .exes = didn't work
    DRAGONKIR's solution = IT WORKED! (when Steam isn't running)
    Trying it with Steam running = didn't work

    Conclusion: So for me, ReShade will only load if Steam is NOT running, no matter which drive it's on.

    I would watch the instruction video, but the link is dead. T_T

    Did I miss a Solution or something?

    (I'd post a log, but the only way I can find is linking. (but, seems to that means I have to upload to an external site... I don't know where to upload to...)

    What do I do? I don't want to have trade earning achievements for ReShade.

      Oop, never mind I fixed it! I had to run to game at in Exclusive Fullscreen mode. Weird. Why doesn't it like Borderless Fullscreen or
      Windowed Mode?

      TL;DR: What works for me is either run it without Steam, or use Exclusive Fullscreen.

      DRAGONKIR's solution = IT WORKED! (when Steam isn't running)

      Try this:
      Open dxgi.ini, find RehookLoadLibrary and set 'true'.
      Find InitDelay and set it to 10000.
      Save and try launching the game through steam. The game may take a long time to launch.

      Still have to relaunch steam to get it to work, and use exclusive fullscreen.
      But at least you help me get it to work when I couldn't get it to work at all today. Thanks! :)

      I'm pretty much as stuck as you. I can get Reshade to work without Steam, but can't when it's running.
      What's this "exclusive fullscreen" mode you're talking about, that is supposed to resolve this problem ?
      Thanks in advance and have a nice day

    what worked for me:
    unx 0919 from here https://github.com/Kaldaien/UnX/releases/tag/unx_091, start the game once
    then paste only the contents of this mods "reshade" folder (shaders, textures, and the ffx.ini) into the reshade folder that was created in your game directory

     SpecialK failed with me too in ReShade, but i find a solution for this. ASI Loader is very usefull for cases like that. In my case or i got ReShade working or the Textures, not both, and this solved.

    download the 'ultimate asi loader' (32bits) from:
    https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader/releases
    then copy the dinput8.dll 32bits version to the install diretory
    download reshade from
    https://reshade.me/
    Note:
    Because this package uses the 'ultimate asi loader' take care and
    first rename the existing d3d9.dll (helix) to d3d9.dll.hx then
    install *only* d3d9.dll (32bits) to the install dir aka folder
    Rename:
    d3d9.dll
    to:
    reshade.asi
    Rename:
    d3d9.dll.hx
    to:
    d3d9.dll

    Tried all the pinned suggestions/fixes and other solutions (including changes to the .ini files) posted in the comments and it just absolutely refuses to work. I'm on Win 10 with a fresh FFX Steam install and the latest UnX. All files are in their correct directories and the game runs fine with UnX otherwise.

    For anyone having trouble getting this ReShade to work I managed to fix it after a lot of error and trial. You open the game folder and find the applications ( FFX&X-2_LAUNCHER, FFX&X-2_Will, FFX, FFX-2) Right click the application - Properties - Compatitbility tab - make sure run as admin is checked on. Thats it! run the game through steam like normal. I hope this helps anyone who has had any issues like I have. :)

    note: I noticed it ffx unchecks run as admin after the game is run. so you have to remember to keep rechecking it.
    edit: sometimes still doesn't work, just keep ALT+F4 and relaunching game until you see it loading top left corner.

    In order to get it working I renamed the original Unx.ini file. Once I did that I was able to access reshade by pressing SHIFT+F2. There must be some setting in the ini that is blocking it...

    I ended up creating my own reshade. I cannot imagine playing the game without it now The difference is dramatic.

    Hi,

    I am having the most peculiar issue with the Reshade, I am using UNX 0.9.1.9 and when combined with the Reshade it works fine however when a fight is initiated it is extremely delayed when it loads in and when magical moves are used.

    I removed the Reshade and the delay vanishes and everything goes back to normal, I am trying to figure out what might be causing this issue. I have tried lowering the resolution, lowering quality settings, I tried limiting the game to 30FPS but to no avail no matter what when I reinstall Reshade this same issue keeps popping up.

    I have used Project X and Reshade before and have never had this issue on my current PC so I do not believe that it is an issue with my current specs.

    If anyone has any advice I would be really grateful, thank you!

    Edit: There is one thing that I have managed to figure out is that for a smooth battle initiation your FPS needs to be 30 on the dot, so whenever I press escape the FPS stabilizes back to 30, so I uninstalled Reshade and re-checked the FPS while in-game and it is a solid 30FPS at all times, so for some reason, Reshade seems to be severely affecting my FPS when installed.
