I mean if you know how to increase the limit so that you can use a higher texture size for him, or if there's a way to get the ai to do a better job with him, sure, I'd love the tips
but honestly it might just be better if you made one for it instead. For me this was more just an experiment than anything, and I haven't played in a while so I probably wont revisit this. It looked better to the person I made the mod for at least, so I did what I wanted to do.
I used topaz gigapixel which is the only ai I can use, and the texture on him is a bit unnatural so I don't think it has anything really to go off of to make it look more normal.
When comparing before and after it's mostly the sword that goes from a low res chunky mess to something that looks more detailed, his body is somewhere between a rock and muscle so it doesn't really know which to pick I think and his J symbol is just more defined but the shimmering it has is less shimmer and more blobby. You can notice a lot more detail on like the edges of things like his armour looking parts and his scarf thing. His face is also a higher quality.
The big issue with doing him is that you can't do too high of a resolution because he has so many textures that it quickly maxes out the limit and some of them dont load or load improperly. In case you don't know, all of the texture animations in the game are actually just swapping from multiple textures and they all have to load in, so when you have 10 different textures loading in at 4k (or even 8k) that's taking up a lot of extra room even though it's just one part of his body (his chest & his eyes both glow like this).
I tried with what I could and I uploaded it because it's still x4 the resolution of the original even if the AI couldn't completely make out how to upscale him "correctly", but it is what it is.
