Can you add a mod for X and X-2 at the same time? Can both places at the same time or do you have to remove each time for each game if you want to switch. TIA!!!

I'm trying to get him semi playable like young Auron, whose animations only load when Auron is present in the same room. Jecht's model should be located somewhere in the npc folder, but I can't tell exactly what folder he uses.
Thank you soo much for the lists, aswell as for all your efforts of creating this awesome mod and sharing it with us, I really appreciate it. It is really awesome to be able to roam around as some of your favorite characters. Sadly, I couldn't find any solution regarding npc animations yet, which, as you stated, only load if a character that uses the same motion group is already present on the map, making it pretty much impossible for characters like Jecht to work at all. Also, as others have already mentioned, there are certain areas like Mihen Highroad or Dreams End (where you fight Jecht), where the game always swaps back to Tidus model, even though I replaced both his low (c001) and high poly (c101) versions. Not shure if you might know a fix for this.
I just figured out a solution to the npc animation problem and also found the reason why the model swap won't work in some areas like Mi'ihen Highroad, but it would be a long answer, as it is a bit complicated to explain.
Does anyone have a step by step tutorial (or even better a video!) :-) on how to do this? Like whereto move the files too. I have external file editor downloaded. The FFX character folder. I have them opened up with winrar but do not understand where to move them. Is in the actual games data folder you move the mod folder to? First, you need to extract the contents of the external file loader file into your games main directory (where FFX.exe and FFX-2.exe are) and replace files if asked.
Then for example, if you want to play as Rikku, you have to extract the Rikku HD file (ffx_ps2 folder) from the FFX Character Change file into the mods folder inside the data folder of your games directory (if you want to play as another character, just extract his/her folder to the same location and replace the files).
Thank you so much for her help! I can’t seem to find the FFX.exe file. I am in the data folder for FFX but it only has a few vbfs. I added the extracted ffx_ps2 file there but it didn’t work.
Yeah, I believe the animations file is the same as X but the animations aren't fully loaded in-game for some reason. They probably changed the ID'S for some of those motions. Not sure if I'll be able to fix it or not.
That is interesting. Didn't expect them to do that. Even if it can't be fixed, it is still great. Always wondered how it would be to play through as him.
update: I've played as Seymour (for now) on FFX and it's great! the blitzball tournament was hilariously weird since he appeared in the water a few times, but other than that it's smooth. Note: MODEL SWAPPING WILL NOT WORK ON KILIKA OR THE HIGHROAD FROM LUCA TO THE AGENCY! any part of the game like sin, kilika or highroad where the running animation is SLOW won't work! You will just be Tidus until the next transition switches you back to the character you picked.
In some areas, Tidus uses his Hi-Res model instead of his low-res model. This is most obvious to observe at the water area where Wakka pushes Tidus in Besaid. You can try using the tool linked in the description to replace all instances of model 101 (Tidus Hi-Res model) with model 8 (Seymour) and seeing if Tidus still shows up.
I'm late in responding but I don't really understand how to use the tool to replace all instances of model 101 with model 8 aka seymour, I'm a little too scared to try so I let it be.
Awesome work! Out of curiosity, do you think it is technically possible to swap Tidus' model with his high poly model in all overworld maps? (Not asking you to make it because I assume it'd be a nightmare)
Already included as an option under "Tidus HD" in the FFX Download. This will cause him to heavily distort during some animations and makes some underwater sections unplayable due to the distortion however.
