This is so cool and I cannot wait to try it out!! Would you consider doing a similar thing with giving a creature item animations and weapons for a character like Leblanc? I've noticed that her creature creator counterpart's fan weapon has no animation to open and close (or whatever it does) like when you fight against her, and I find it a little bland to look at considering its just a thin "fan". Just a thought. Seriously though, this mod is sick - thank you for making it and letting me beat Shuyin with Shuyin lmao.
Ah I'm sorry, I didn't realize you posted this. I actually just detailed the process on another comment. Re-enabling the animations is actually pretty straightforward once you get used to it. I would make a mod to do it for all monsters but it would end up conflicting with other mods that edit the monsters.
As for stuff like Leblanc's fan, I remember enemies loading those weapons as separate enemies entirely which allows them to have animations. The creature weapons don't load that way and unfortunately I'm unsure if there's a way to get those animations running at all. I can try re-installing the game and seeing if replacing the weapon with the enemy version will work at all.
So as someone who tried to run the DataParser but didn't understand it, is there a tutorial anywhere on how to run it? I would like to do something like this for several other characters who are either missing animations (like the previously mentioned Leblanc) or weapons. Baralai's Glint and Drill Shot animations do not load for the CC version of him, nor does Gippal's Bullseye, and I would very much like to fix that.
No need to run the dataparser for that, you can instead use the 010 Templates I posted on another post alongside 010 Editor (which is a paid program, but does have a free trial). Using that, go into one of the CC files in mon and run it then go all the way to the bottom at the creature creator data and go to the Battle Animation Restrictions. Then change the necessary values to 1.
Also, no there isn't a tutorial for the DataParser. You'll just have to install the necessary Java version and run it that way.
