Do Serah and Noel even have the animations for all the abilities?
And since you are playing with the progression; would it be possible to extend it a bit since you are full build so fast? Like increase the stats gain and the cp cost by 10x.
Or have a harder version with stats 2x and cost 10x?
So they do have the animations for a lot of the abilities already baked in, mainly the XIII-1 abilities. A person in the Discord, Drifting Dreamer, is doing a lot of work on ones that didn't quite work like Counter for example. They are also adding in ones like the Elemental Blitzes, but Haste, Slow, Daze, etc all work as intended without needing any work.
For the simple Crystarium Rebalanced, I kept the leveling spread the way it is in the base game (they learn all their abilities by the same end point), but for the other two Crystariums I am working on, I definitely expand things a bit:
The second version that will hopefully be published soon has a greater level spread due to more abilities from XIII-1 and is also Rebalanced to ensure both Noel and Serah get all abilities included in each other's Crystariums. In that mod their leveling progression for each role mimics that of a FFXIII-1 character. For example, Serah follows Lightnings COM progression, Hope's RAV progression, Snow's SEN progression, Hope's SYN progression, Hope's MED progression, and Vanille's SAB progression. Meanwhile Noel follows Fang's COM progression, Lightning's RAV progression, Fang's SEN progression, Sazh's SYN progression, Vanille's MED progression, and Fang's SAB progression. In my playing through of this mod version, it plays really nicely!
My 3rd one is an Expanded and Rebalanced crystarium though and all the roles have abilities up til level 95. I either add in nodes that are boosted stats between abilities and also add in some monster abilities like the elemental blitzes, mind piercer, armor breaker, etc. I think that one will play nicely like a good hard mode.
For the currently uploaded Crystarium Rebalanced, I suggest maybe using a Fragment CP adjustment mod to make things more difficult. The 0 CP fragment version of the mod definitely slows leveling and even the 50% CP fragment version should also make a nice difference: https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasyxiii2/mods/30.
