Really? That's nice to know. I haven't looked into the FF2/3 files yet. If they're named exactly the same as the file you need to replace for FF1, then that should be all good, yeah. Will upload the file on FF2/3 Nexus(es) too, then!
EDIT: I didn't get this mod working for FF2 & FF3, so I'll be making seperate mods for these very soon!
Thanks so much for this, it's just what I wanted. I see the person below has tried it with the other games and found success, I went in and looked at the files and saw that there are different files when comparing the FF1 and FF3 .bundles. We sure this won't cause any glitches/crashes? I'll probably try it out anywho but just thought to mention it.
So it definitely does not work in my in-progress FF3 game. I'm about 20 hrs in and it crashes on the overworld map. All I did was rename the .bundle file to match the FF3 counterpart.
My bad! I placed the mod in the main install folder, which I guess is wrong. I must have some other mod suppressing maps, because my mini-maps are gone from my game anyway. So disregard my post below.
Okay, I fixed my hair-brained error. Whatever I have going on, maps are suppressed. I set this up correctly and maps are disabled. Much better than what I had. Looking forward to a version of this for FF2 & 3.
