For anyone having issues, check the Installation and Compatibility section of the mod page, and please always comment in your game's Memoria Engines version and both FolderNames and Priorities section found in your Memoria.ini file, or just a screenshot of your Memoria mod manager will do. Otherwise, please share your issues as clear and concise as you can.

I'll be happy to check it out and see if you have any mod order issues with Perfect Stats mod and even with other mods, cheers!

    FAQ

Q: I installed this mod mid-game. I'm not seeing any changes to my party's stat?
A: If installed mid-game, you need to visit Chocobo Forest at least once to inject the mod's changes. You then need to level-up a character in order for their stats to finally recalculate.

Q: My party member is already level 99 though, and cannot level-up any more.
A: Unfortunately, the way the game recalculate stats is through leveling-up. This means that maxed leveled characters cannot trigger the changes in stat anymore.

Hi there, thanks for the mod, I leveled all characters to 99 to see the stats but I don't believe the mod worked. If i am wrong then that is great, below are the stats for my level 99 zidane with no enhancements from equipment under the perfect stats setting

    HP: 6876
    MP: 385

    Speed: 33

    Strength: 76

    Magic: 60

    spirit: 50

I also changed my settings to no bonus stat and went into the chocobo forest to activate it but my stats did not change. Can you confirm these are the correct lvl 99 stats for the perfect stats setting? I really want to try the perfect rebalance but want to make sure this is working first.

You need to level up in order for the changes to finally work and recalculate (as is with vanilla). Unfortunately, as you're already level 99 you might be stuck already and won't be able to have these changes anymore.

Thanks for the mod! Quick question, I happened to start the game with AF + Perfect Stats on, but changed my mind already after the Alexandria play was finished. Am I safe to swap to no AF + Perfect Stats Rebalanced seeing as everyone is still level 1 or would I need to enter a chocobo forest regardless?

I haven't tried and tested removing mods mid-playthrough (a rule of thumb is to always create a new game if you're unsure). Granted you're just on the earliest parts of the game that starting a new game shouldn't be a hassle.

But if you're only switching mods (like going from Perfect Stats to Rebalance), you should be fine. Note however that until you reach Chocobo Forest the game still remembers the values provided by Perfect Stats, and by visiting Chocobo Forest only then you would have the values for Rebalanced. Party members will also need to level-up to recalculate their stats.

I wish there was some better way to reimplement but for now visiting specific locations like Chocobo Forest is the most non-intrusive method to do this.

I'm planning on starting a new playthrough with Alternate Fantasy. Would you recommend using Perfect Stats or Perfect Rebalanced?

As the mod author, of course I would recommend either of the two. Choosing which depends on how much stats you'd want to gain, I did mention before (if you check my previous comments here) that Perfect Stats provide the highest stats possible in the base game, making games much easier, while Perfect Rebalanced is my own custom stats mainly increasing stat points for low ones like Steiner (which does reduce difficulty overall).

Uff does not work I guess. I get the same stats from lvl 1-6 with mod on and off. How do I know if its rlly active ? Right now, it looks not active or working.

PS: I got it to work, had to restart again, guess I have installed it bevore starting a new game but activated the mod after I had a new game and that didn't work. It had to be activated before starting a new game. I thought it would change stats from the start because the description of that mod was a little confusing.

Thanks for trying the mod, but I'd have to correct this, it's a bit unfair to blame the mod-page. It clearly stated:
A new save game is required to apply these changes

Generally, if mod authors mention this they mean it as it is, the mod will only work on newly started games.

Additionally, knowing that players would still want to have the mod but wanted to keep their save, I made it so that if they visit Chocobo Forest at any point of the game, the mod's changes will apply, as again mentioned in the mod-page:
, but if you installed this mod mid-game, you can also visit Chocobo's Forest to inject the mod's changes, level up, and see the new stats.

    Hey there!,
I would like to know if "Perfect Rebalanced" should make it easier or harder compared to a "normal normie walkthrough".
I know a perfect point can't be achieved since every player grinds differently, but since you described Perfect Rebalanced as "Easy-Normal", and the next level would be "VERY HARD", I would like to know if it really feels "Easy-Normal". If so, do you plan on doing an "Normal-Hard"?,
If I had to receive a little tune in my balance, I would prefer it to the "a very little harder" rather than easy.
OR, can the files be easily edited? (like numerical changes in the file). Thank you.

Hi, to everyone, I did mention those difficulty ranges but it's somewhat subjective even to me as the mod author. I had worries that this might come back at me soon if I ever mentioned any sort of difficulty labels for this.

But if you really want to do "normal" difficulty, it's already available; the base game itself with no mods, and using and equipping items without careful planning (like what you'd expect from a normal/first-time playthrough). I understand that what you'd want is a "normal" difficulty playthrough without doing stat leveling, but removing the stat leveling mechanic itself already makes the game easier, hence why I labeled Perfectly Rebalanced as "easy-normal" - easy in the sense that you don't have to worry about stat leveling, and some characters received stat buffs, normal being that the stats I've set have values close but not much higher to what I think is the general stats a normal playthrough would have, and you can still lose battles if you're too underleveled.

There are no plans to include another setting in this mod, but I'll be happy to discuss how we came up with the mod at Moogles and Mods discord https://discord.gg/SnwyHE8F I can't say it's easy since you'd probably do calculations to end up with the desired values you want.

Can there be a variation of the mod that makes all characters have the highest possible of each stat? The linked guide shows what the highest number each character can achieve but not all of them can be reached at once in a given run:

Highest possible of each stat for Zidane:
    Speed: 50
    Strength: 83
    Magic: 77
    Spirit: 50

Highest possible of each stat for Steiner:
    Speed: 42
    Strength: 80
    Magic: 77
    Spirit: 50

Highest possible of each stat for Vivi:
    Speed: 37
    Strength: 74
    Magic: 86
    Spirit: 50

Highest possible of each stat for Dagger:
    Speed: 42
    Strength: 76
    Magic: 91
    Spirit: 50

No party member in FFIX can achieve all their highest possible stats simply for the fact that they cannot simultaneously equip everything and maximize each and every stat on a single playthrough. And because of this, no, there will be no plans to have a version that does this.

Besides, for the Perfect Stats option I've referenced the optimal max stats that make sense for each party member. Zidane can roughly achieve the highest STR you have there but will nowhere reach the highest MAG, and it makes sense since Zidane will unlikely make good use of high MP stats (via MAG). On the other hand, Vivi will achieve high amounts of MAG similar again to what you have there but won't reach that big of STR, and again because it's more beneficial for Vivi to have max MAG than STR. Conversely, Quina is given the hybrid max stats as it makes sense to have both relatively high STR and MAG.

I wouldn't mind doing a small mod of this with the hades workshop tool. The main down side with having all the stats predetermined is that you couldn't do customized builds like you could with the old equipment system. What if I wanted to build a Vivi or Garnet with high strength for example (strength also increases Hp)?

The Hades Tool was easy enough to figure out how to make edits to the equipment, but I am running into an issue with making it compatible with the other mods on memoria. Would you have any advice on that or perhaps be able to point me to the right tools/resources for allowing compatibility? I'm new to the FF9 modding scene, but I have some interest in doing some smaller projects with it. Thanks in advance.

I have a few things in mind to make that possible. The best course in my opinion is to go ahead and join the modding community discord https://discord.gg/nMUAZJX9 and ask away the issues you've been encountering in terms of compatability.

Hello, thanks so much for this mod! I wanna ask does this mod affect Beatrix (from the Beatrix mod) too?

Yes! Beatrix herself is in the base game, so she's of course included in this mod. Either Vanilla wth Beatrix Mod or Alternate Fantasy is compatible with Perfect Stats.

Hi, I read through everything and I have a request of sorts: In multiple guides we see max level stats for vanilla, certain builds, etc. This gives me an idea of how the manual work looks like at the end of the "grind", but this information is lacking other than the description for each option in the mod. is it possible to have an overview of the stats for max leveled characters for each setting?

It's a bit of a bothersome request, but I wanted to get a better idea of how the mod is really changing the stats.

    Thanks in advance!

This is certainly part of the plan, I will eventually provide a detailed guide/documentation of what the max stats are for each option, but for Perfect Stats choice it's already well documented in the guide I've linked.

I'll add this documentation soon, but for now thanks for the support!

Is Perfect Rebalanced the ideal setting to keep it more difficult than 'Perfect Stats', but not to the level of 'No Bonus Stat Growth'? I'm looking for an experience closest to vanilla.

Then the Perfect Rebalanced setting should be what you're looking for, it isn't exactly as high as Perfect Stats (man, I gotta rename that choice). I really don't want to label it as so like Perfect Stats (Very Easy), Perfect Rebalanced (Easy to Normal), and No Stats (Very Hard), but to be honest I'd imagine that would be the overall difficulty change of each option.

Hello! Very happy to see this! I always hated the feeling that I was gimping characters by not equipping the +stat gear on them, and then not using gear with dmg boosts or resists enough.

I was wondering if the changes to stat growth here include the Tantalus boys from your Playable Tantalus mod?

Hi, glad you liked it and yes that is exactly what the mod is for, you will no longer have to worry about stat building and just keep your favourite or most useful gears.

Perfect Stats is made to be compatible with Playable Tantalus and even Playable Character Pack.
