That would've been nice, yeah, but we can't add new combat abilities and such, at least not yet. I thought Tifa would be a better fit than Aerith for Jessie to swap in for since she does have some hand-to-hand skills, as her flying kick in the opening and Wedge's comment about her beating them up showed. But maybe in the future we'll be able to have her use her gun and bombs instead. Or in Part 2, if we're really lucky. ^_^
This reminds of the old Jessie Mod for the original FF7. It lets you play as a version of Jessie over Tifa as an additional party member in the first Bombing Mission. Any chance some additional mod would let one add her to that?
There's a mod that puts Jessie over Cloud, it just came out. That's about the only way to let her be playable in the Reactor 1 mission right now. As for the original FF7, I have a mod for it in the works that involves a lot of enhancements and additions, including making Jessie playable for the entire game, and not as a complete replacement for Tifa, either. You'll be able to switch between them at certain points outside battle, though there are times when one or the other would be forced for story reasons. And I intend for their limits to be somewhat different as well. Although they'd use the same attacks and slot style, Jessie's would do slightly less raw damage but also inflict unavoidable status ailments as well.
Let's face it. The character who needs replacing is Cloud. Can you replace him with Jessie? There was a mod that did so, but it broke in certain locations (walking tight ropes etc).
I'll have to second this, replacing Cloud or more over Barret with Jessie would be awesome. Understand that they would still have the voice of the originals but the visuals would be fantastic. :)
Jessie over Cloud could be fun, especially in combination with the mod that puts her over Sephiroth. I'll consider it, since I do want to see more mods for Jessie. I'm working on her base and her Wall Market dresses atm though, so it may be a little while. But I think I may add it to the list. :)
not sure what ive done wrong but i still have cloud in my game, doesnt replace him with jessie despite having all the required pak files in the ~mods folder
Yes and im currently using that right now, but it was an outfit replace for Tifa, so both her body and face is still Tifa's tho. Some part of her skin texture looks wierd and glitchy. but i appreciate ur work here
Great mod. It's kinda too bad that you cant mod in party members so you could have Tifa AND Jessie, because I'm still in that camp that thinks there is no reason Cloud couldn't have used a Phoenix Down.
Well, you could, actually, if Jessie was swapped in for Aerith instead of Tifa. And as for the phoenix down, well, cutscene logic lol. At least there's a very good chance Jessie'll be back in Part 2. And thanks! ^_^
Any chance to do the same for a Tifa to Jessie mod? Also a Aerith to Jessie mod as well? I want to see the girls in Jessie's situation/animations. Especially that bike kiss scene and aggressive hug outside her house. Heck, a Barret to Jessie mod would actually be REALLY hilarious with him riding in the back with Cloud on the bike chase and giving him a kiss. xD
I don't really know yet. This one took a long time to do, and there are still things I want to add to it, as I noted in the description. But I won't rule anything out for the future.
