I really loved how this mod fixed FFVII remake so much, I can't imagine playing without it, the diegetic music in this game is so obnoxious and damages the atmosphere created by the BGM.

Do you think there's any chance of one like this for Rebirth?
There's many diegetic musics in that game which spoil the atmosphere; jukeboxes, bands, exercise groups...
It would be really awesome if they could be deleted.

    Many thanks :)

You're very welcome! I'm a big fan of many of your mods, so I'm happy to return the favor (the wall market BGM swap inspired me to start making mods myself).

Btw, you're doing gods work on those texture upscale projects, if you need another hand I'd be down to help out since there are so many textures in need of treatment.

Thanks! Glad to be of help!! :)
Oh for sure!! Everyone willing to help with textures is welcome! uasset renaming is a pain, lol. The actual process is not hard at all, just very time-consuming! I'm now working on the Sector 7 station, which has almost every texture at 2048x2048.

If you can point me to a tutorial on how it's done or give me a quick rundown, as well as what areas are already being addressed I'd be happy to set to work on it. They do extreme closeups on so many low res assets in the game's cutscenes especially, it makes me crazy.

Are you in the Open FF7R discord? All the required tools and tutorials are there! I can point you in the right direction and help you in learning the process, the more the merrier! :D

I actually just joined up (should be NickTheBushman), and I've found the nice video tutorial for accessing the textures and tooling around with them in blender, and I even found a bit of the info on upscaling, but it's not all organized and sorted very well on the discord (at least for me, a discord noob). I've also seen you mention you've found better ways to upscale on your airbuster mod and would rather be sure to start with the best techniques from the get go if possible. So I won't need a total, "how to mod textures for dummies" kind of extended tutorial, but there are definitely some gaps here and there in the info I have or at least where it's located.

A great idea, I'm trying to remove the attenuation of the objects with music but without affecting the audio tracks, so that they can be played in the jukeboxes.

In the meantime you can perfect this mod with the two songs you need to replace 28. Stamp and 29. The Midgar Blues, they are in the folders:

    /End/Content/GameContents/Sound/BGM/JP/jb_028
    /End/Content/GameContents/Sound/BGM/JP/jb_029
    /End/Content/GameContents/Sound/BGM/US/jb_028
    /End/Content/GameContents/Sound/BGM/US/jb_029

I hope you find it useful and I'll see if I can do something without deleting the music.

Ohhhhhh, I just realized what happened! I actually already found and replaced those files, but I didn't have the folder structure right because they are in subfolders for either the US or Japanese localizations, so they didn't work. Seeing the paths laid out like that again caused me to have an epiphany, thanks!

The jukebox is so damn loud and isn't affected by the music audio options.  I was waiting for just this mod, thank you!

It's definitely one of many glaring sound design issues in the game. Glad I could help!
