I almost never leave comments on these mod forums. However this was SO Needed and I didn't even realize it. One of my least favorite places in the game, made Way Better with this mod. I use the Jazzy version ^_^ Thank you so much!
Yeah, it plays in more than one place! Anytime they want that sneaking/slinking around feel, usually underground. I've been trying to remember where, but haven't yet. What do you mean by corkscrew tunnel, the Midgar train tracks area?
That's right, yeah! That part of the game leading up to the reactor with airbuster. I found the hectic music in Remake for this part quite grating, in fact
Oh man, thanks for catching that! There's so many steps to posting these mods I often wonder if something didn't go wrong somewhere and nobody says anything.
Easier said than done! These 2 songs need to be replaced in 3 different spots to totally cover the sewers, totaling six different instances, which ends up being a pain in the butt to split and compile and all that. Many tedious steps. I'll consider doing an area music only no battle version in the future though (especially if there's more demand for said version).
Thanks for this! Really helps playing through the sewers feel more like the original game. Matching the tone of the original is why I would be interested in an alternate or area music only version as well, maybe even with the standard battle music in place of the one they used for the sewers. Whether there ends up being demand for something like that or not, this is a great mod as is, so thanks again!
Jazz haters and OG purists rejoice, there's now all three flavors to suit your tastes! All the versions of the original FFVII battle music aren't quite as loud as the other tracks for reasons I don't understand(lot of volume issues in this game), so there may be a revision of that later to pump it up a bit, but for now it all should be working acceptably.
Glad you're all happy about the different versions, though I had zipped the raw folders and not the actually needed .pak files by accident it seems. Assuming you haven't already packed the folders and fixed it yourself, the correct files should be up and ready for download now.

Wink
I really don't like the battle music you used for this mod.
