Sorry if this is a redundant question, but would this be good if I wanted to replace the appearance of ever sword with the Buster sword so that it appears that Cloud is always using the Buster sword for the sake of consistency? To be more clear what I mean is just replacing the appearance but keeping the abilities of each sword.
Thank you in advance your mod looks awesome and I do like the concept of restoring it through progression.
Just editing to say nvm I figured it out thanks again for the awesome mod and sorry for wasting a post.
So from what I'm understanding of how this mod works, what it does is that it corrects the slashing trail of the Buster Sword when you hit the attack button. It also has it that from Type-1 to Type-6 that it shows a progressive repair of Cloud restoring the Buster Sword to how it looks from Crisis Core / Advent Children?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, since I'm finding this a tad confusing. And also to that note, just to clarify, Type-1 is the vanilla model of the Buster Sword for the Remake, completely not modified 'cept for the slash trail matching with the sword?
You're right that Type-1 is the standard buster sword with the trail fix applied. Also Type-1 is complete remake -> Type 2 is remake with the rim restored -> Type-3 is with metal crossguard removed -> Type-4 adds the details back to the original cross guard -> Type-5 restores the gold around the hilt and removes the handle wrap* -> Type-6 is Crisis core buster sword full restored.
Each sword Type-1 through Type-6 can be applied to any sword in the game.
So if you want to update the sword appearance on the title screen, you could write each type-1 through 6 over the buster sword, and just change which mod you have installed so the appearance changes gradually.
You can also put the mods in a sequence so each sword Cloud gets is a different version of the buster sword. But if you do this the title screen doesn't update.
But all the types can be on whatever sword you want. So if you want to mix and match mods this can allow you to do that. If you want you could have the monado overwriting the original buster sword, and have type 1 overwrite the twin stinger if you want, and have type-4 overwriting the mythril saber.

Forgive me for misunderstanding but is it like the menu changes as you progress through the chapters? or does the buster sword IN GAME change as you progress?
To answer your question, its kinda up to the user. You could replace the Buster Sword itself as you move chapter to chapter. If you do that both the model and the title screen will update. However, you can set each sword in a sequence so that as you get different weapons the buster sword appearance changes, but the title screen will not change.
The suggest mod order is: Type 1 ->zBusterSword_BusterSword_T1.pak Type 2 ->zIronSword_BusterSword_T2.pak Type 3->zNailBat_BusterSword_T3.pak Type 4 ->zHardedge_BusterSword_T4.pak Type 5 ->zMythrilSaber_BusterSword_T5.pak Type 6 ->zTwinStinger_BusterSword_T6.pak
But you can replace any sword in the game with whatever variation you want. This is just the order to have it feel like Cloud is slowly restoring the Buster Sword.
Someday in the future, if it's possible to make a weapon's model and texture be chapter dependent I will try to make a version that just applies to the Buster Sword. I am the mods co-author, I made the type-6 model (with a lot of help from Amiibolad, also check out his amazing Crisis Core Buster Sword which is better than mine) and had the original idea for this concept.
If I may suggest, if possible can you create a mod pack with this mod order? so people won't need to download each individual pack if they want to follow this progression.
Is it possible to mix and match different versions of the buster sword with different weapons? like if i wanted to could i put type six over all of cloud's weapons?

Thank you !
I'll try and get around to fixing them. Thank you for the feedback.
