As of version 1.0 Hello! Thanks for interacting with my mod, I hope you enjoy the versions that are available to download. That said, this mod is only planned to replace Aerith's standard outfit. Replacing the other outfits will take too much time, and will result in too many iterations. The more I replace, the time required to update everything will exponentially increase. Thank you for your understanding. ♥
For any other information please read the description page thoroughly. For any bugs please post with details in the bugs section or here.
Fist off, let me say that the modding community for this game is absolutely amazing. Secondly, this mod looks really awesome. I just started using this and dropped the Sexy dress mod (for now). Keep up the good work!
Hmm I'm not sure what to tell you, the image doesn't give me much to work with. Wandoland says they didn't have this issue while testing. Thanks for your input both of you. Now if you're saying it works if you remove Tifa Golden Armor, then there's a conflict. Maybe try Packchunk Patcher, it could help.
I'm 99% sure that gray checker pattern on a character means that you have more than one mod active for an outfit slot. In this case the Aerith's standard outfit. You have this mod active I assume. I would check to see if you have any other mod that replaces the Aerith's standard outfit. All other ones need to be off. The 4k Aerith do replace the standard outfit-just an upscale version of it and that one is compatible because in my testing, I had the 4k Aerith, the sunbathe Aerith and the 25% wet skin Aerith on and this mod was is still working for me. Those extra mods I just mention are texture mods which this mod tolerate but some mods will not tolerate any change. Next, I would check for mods' load order. If 4k Aerith is active, I would make sure it is the first Aerith's mod to load. We do not want to slap on an upscale standard Aerith after we load this mod. The two outfits have different shapes ( mesh) so they may conflict and probably give that gray checker pattern effect. My understanding is that 4k Aerith goes first works ok because this Gley outfit mod is designed to replace (sit on top, meaning load after) the standard Aerith outfit mesh.
Sum it up, I'm pretty sure they work together so watch your active mods list for mods that replace Aerith's standard outfit and also check mods' load order. Rename your mod if necessary to manipulate load order (If you use mod manager like Vortex, disabling conflicting mods sometimes is not enough, we actually have to go into game's mod folder to make sure no two conflicting mods actually present).
*** The chunk Id fix that the author mentioned is an extremely useful tool. I use it a lot because I have almost 100 gb worth of storage in raw mods file and almost 300gb of space used because I use Vortex mod manager for the sake of speed and convenience. Anyway, I don't think it apply in your case because chunk Id conflict will give "fatal error" message when loading the game. You won't even see gray checker character. For me, with so many mods active, it gets to the point where I have 50% chance of fatal error for every new mod I try to make active. It gets more complicated because I read in mods description that some mod authors have some kind of "chunk id fix" built into their mods so even if we sweep it once with the dedicated "chunk id fix mod" the author was talking about which in essence assign random id number for each mod. So from statements like that, we can assume multiple "chunk id fixes" running at the same time the game load but they are not well coordinated with one another resulting in the fact that there is still chances that more than one mod have the same chunk id. Therefore, I suspect we can still have chunk id problem even after running the chunk id fix mod or there is some other conflicts that take many loads to get pass "fatal error" situation. In my experience, when I'm pretty sure it is not a mesh mod conflict, but I still get "fatal error" message at load, then I keep reloading the game over and over. The highest number of loads it takes for me to successfully load the game right when I encounter this situation is 11. My principle is that after thinking through that everything is right and I still get "fatal error message," retry about 15 times before I investigate further. (Time consuming I know, but just have to be patient if we like mods so much) If you strongly believe two mods are in conflict, you can do an absolutely doubt free test by making it happen so that your mod folder only contains those two mods and loads the game. Mods are so fun and thanks to mod authors the game is way better but sometimes it takes a lot of time to make them work. That is just for us users. Imagine how much harder it is to make the mods. I tried but have to give up. Too complicated. Only the following guide seem to be easy to understand and follow but still waiting for part 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hheox-91y88&t=7s
Edit: Part 2 just came as of now April 20. Probably was uploaded yesterday sometimes
Very in depth, thanks so much for your insight. I agree with everything you said. I believe it will be up to TX800 to see what mods are conflicting with this one. It's like you said, outfits from other mods conflicting and fighting over who gets to use a texture and we end up with that gray checker pattern.
Sorry for the inconvenience guys. I checked on my side to see if I'm overriding anything Tifa related and I'm not. So I'm still not sure why this would happen with the Tifa Golden Armor but strangely not the Aerith one. I did not override any of Tifa's texture or replace them so Gley Aerith shouldn't even interact with the Golden Armor. My hunch is that since the mod is over a month old at this point, the author of the Golden Armor used an older technique where we replace the game's original textures, and it can be finnicky. Right now there's a better technique where can we import custom textures, name them anything we want, as well as create custom material instances for those textures. Since Pakchunk ID is not an issue here because the game isn't crashing, the only thing I can think of is the above. So I can't fix anything on my end.
to change outfit and I guess in my first test I only loaded one at a time for this mod and the Tifa armor mod so they seem to work together for me. After a few days however, I come back here and notice people are still having problems. I test load the mods again this time both together and realize they will not work side by side, and whichever gets loaded first can work but the other will get a gray checker pattern. My best guess for this problem is that the two mods share the same material. Both use stuffs from the Descendant outfits. Those shiny shoes and armor parts on both mods look extremely similar. I read the comment sections of mods and see that some have this problem and there is example where it only takes one author to fix this "share material/file/asset" problem. https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7rebirth/mods/938?tab=posts
OH. MY. POLYGONS. SHE WALKED OUT THAT LOADING SCREEN LOOKIN’ LIKE IF TONY STARK HAD A MID-LIFE CRISIS IN A VICTORIA’S SECRET!! Her armor’s like: 10% defense, 90% "You can't predict me cuz you starin down there" She ain’t casting spells anymore, she’s out here casting thirst traps Like bruh, she’s not a healer, she’s the final boss of my puberty. This mod didn’t come to play. It came to seduce your GPU. And I, for one, support her villain arc. Or hero arc actually, wait.. Doesn't matter, APPROVED

When i have the Ultimate Gley Outfit load first it looks fine, but then, this happens to the golden armor outfit for tifa:
