Thanks for this. That raytraced ao looks sexy. gonna try it out
Though you do realize there's option during reshade installation to select ini file which gonna select only the effects that are being used by the preset, right?
No need to install ALL the effects

      Hi!!

I'm happy to hear that you like the preset 🥳🥳🥹

I did not know this! 😮 that makes it a lot easier!
When I have the time I will update the description.

Thank you for letting me know ❤️

a weird bug happened to me.. most of the time in cutscenes, a black patch appears on the character's body, moving with the character's animation, sometimes it slips off the character's body and disappears, from my perspective it looks like a black liquid clinging to the surface of the skin, moving with their movements and then crawling out of their body.... still dunno what's the reason

      Hii!

How unfortunate that you get this bug :O This sounds and looks very troublesome.

Sorry for the late reaction! I have not encountered this bug in over 40 hours of gameplay :O

Please make sure that you have RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED set to 1. It could also be that the depth buffer is not set up correctly after installing Reshade. When you go into add-ons (at the top of the reshade menu) you will see the depth buffers that the game is using. You can then select one of them and see if anything changes in game. Me personally would just enter photo mode the moment the issue appears again and then set up the depth buffers and select one of the lines in that window. Above the lines where you see the depth buffers you will also see 2 boxes that can be checked, please make sure these are both checked as well. See image below (these settings have nothing to do with FF Rebirth so please don't copy anything other than the checkmarks you see in the picture below)

Also when the frame rate is higher than 60 fps the reshade will not work correctly.

Let me know if this fixes it. At the moment life is a bit busy but I will try to respond as fast as possible

This looks really nice, my friend. Thank you for sharing it. I personally won't be using your preset as I already curated one to my liking, but I did discover some new shaders belonging to your preset which I've now gone and incorporated into mine, and for that you have my thanks. Endorsed!

      Hello!

Thank you for the kind words and the endorsement 🥹🥳🩷
I am happy that my little preset made you discover new shaders!
Its always fun to find new effects and to change the look and feel of a preset😊.

I hope you had fun setting, tweaking and using the new shaders in your preset and I hope you enjoy the game to its fullest!🥳

So ive installed everything according to your steps, but the reshade doesn't show up/work. Even when I press home to access reshader in game, nothing happens. Idk what else to try, ive tried uninstalling and installing 3x.

      Hi!

It is possible that Reshade is installed on the wrong .exe file.

The Reshade installation for this game can be a bit confusing as there are 2 .exe files to select in the installation of the program. 🧐
Only one .exe file will work. During the installation of the program you need to select the .exe file that is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\End\Binaries\Win64. You can see the path during the Reshade installation.

Can you check which .exe file you selected?

After you select the win64 .exe file, the Reshade should work.

Let me know if this fixed the issue 😊

NiceGuy lighting doesn't seem to work. I tried different options but it doesn't make a difference while other options work without issues. Any ideas what is causing this?

Hi! I hope you are liking the preset 🥳

What is the frame rate you have set ingame? If it is above 60 fps NiceGuyLighting will not find a good working depth buffer. This could be the cause.

If depth of field is working without issues that means the depth buffers are set up correctly. Is it working as intended?

If all others are working fine you can also try to reload the reshade by pressing "reload" at the bottom.

Let me know how it goes 🥹

I'm sorry to hear that it is not working properly. 🥺

What do you mean it does not work? Did you download the newest Reshade version? Are you playing at 4k resolution as well?
I have not tested the preset on lower resolutions so I don't know what it would look like.

What do you mean with a lot of noise? If you mean lighting noise, I mention this in the description.

Also in another comment I mention that the frame rate must be set to 60 and to check the settings in Reshade. Those two settings should resolve it ☺️

      Hi!

      You can try the following:

There is a setting in ''Edit Global Preprocessor Definitions'' which you need to change. First open the Edit Global Preprocessor Definitions by clicking on it in the reshade menu. After you click it you should set RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED to 1

Also, if the frame rate is set to higher than 60 the shaders will not work well so I also suggest limiting the frames to 60 in game.

      This should resolve the issues.

If the issues still persist I would like to receive some more information about what you have changed so far. Is the frame rate set to 60? Did you change the depth input etc. I would like to help but I need more information to be able to do that ☺️

The things I mentioned above is all I did to get all shaders working without issues and I have been playing with this preset for 23 hours now.

Also like I mention in the description this preset is meant to be played at 4k.
Playing on any lower resolution will result in the preset not looking like the pictures.

Hopefully the instructions in this message resolve the issues and you can enjoy the game with the preset. 🥳

Hi, is the dof supposed to apply to the whole image? Everything look blurry, even Cloud. If I disable the cinematic dof from the preset then it looks fine, but I just wanted to know if that was intentional or something went wrong.

      Hi!

The depth of field should only be visible in the distance.
Its possible that a setting in Reshade is not turned on after installing it.

This setting is in ''Edit Global Preprocessor Definitions'' which you can change.
After you click it you should set RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED to 1

Also if the frame rate is set to higher than 60 (maybe 90) Reshade will apparently not work well so I also suggest limiting the frames to 60 or to 90 although I have not tested 90 yet.

Let me know if this fixes it.

Why does your reshade add blur or a depth of field effect...

Would be better to make a new version that removes this.

The blur and the depth of field are to make the game feel like a movie. Not a video game.
If you do not like these shaders you can simply turn them off in the reshade menu ☺️

Also, dont call your mod raytracing, this isn't Ray tracing. These are just shaders that simulate light bounces to make you perceive RT lighting when its not.

We have similar aesthetic sensibilities. Haven't downloaded the mod, but I just really appreciate you sharing something I like so I thought I'd comment. I've worked on a ReShade myself (won't be uploading) and have been tinkering with what'll work best for my home potato. The previews look good!

I hope you get your Reshade looking as best as you can! 🥳

You can always try to download it and see how it runs, or use the preset for yourself and rework it to your liking and performance ☺️
