I am assuming the game updated and rendered this broken? I installed into the ~mods folder and even tried directly, but nothing changes.

    I am facing an issue.
when i put the downloaded files in mods folder and played the game, the camera angle did not change ?
what do I need to do to change the camera angle ?   i clicked on off camera distance under game setting from 1 to 3 but nothing happened ?
I think the new GAME UPDATE broke this mods.  AUTHOR please check the mod. it is not working for me.

Just want to add that this mod might cause you to not perfectly complete certain side missions that involves using a camera.  I'm using a fov command in the console and it will affect the camera results

None of my mods modify the FOV value of any camera setting. They do change the "Distance" variable though.

Can you add a 90 file in there, the default is way too close, and the farther is way too far. I WAS using Cheatengine to set them to 75 inside, 80 combat, and 90 for Explore and it was perfect, but that mods totally broken now.

I think the medium setting file may suit you well. Closer World Camera. Check for the Medium Intensity file. It's my personal favorite actually.

Makes exploring more enjoyable. Btw, any way to make it even farther? I want it to feel almost isometric

In the main open world, this is possible. Inside dungeons and other locations, it's possible but will likely cause issues and have the camera bouncing off of the environment a lot.

Thanks! I’m the one who asked if it was possible to make one just for the chocobo camera. I’d like to know if it’s possible to set this distant camera together with the one you have for the closer camera. That is, I’d like to distance the camera both for the chocobo and for the world when you’re on foot. Is it possible to make them compatible?

While they couldn't be compatible as two separate files, I'm open to making more. If I'm understanding right, you're asking about this far camera in world, and the heightened chocobo camera of the other one?

Yes, I was referring to the distant camera on the Chocobo (I saw that it was released, thanks!), and I want the camera to be far away when walking on foot. The thing is, I installed this mod, but I see it exactly the same. Is it possible that the Chocobo mod interferes with this one and makes the camera look the same when walking?

EDIT : Alright, both mods are working for me now. To take it a step further, would it be possible to set the Chocobo mod you uploaded to 180? As the other user mentioned, I think it looks more harmonious. The camera feels quite high, but at 180, you can see the entire Chocobo, and the framing looks better centered.
I don't know what others might think, but I believe 180 is a VERY important value to consider.

180 sounds like a good adjustment I can make soon.

I use FOV commands in the HOOK console. They need to be activated every time I launch the game. So something more permanent would be a lot better. However, I've notice a few drawbacks from using a wider FOV. It affects everything, Exploration, Menus, Cutscenes and Mini-games etc.

I prefer a wider angle whilst traversing areas and especially whilst fighting, but I feel it negatively impacts cutscenes and mini-games.

What does your MOD alter? Is it just the FOV scale (and if so what is the value) or have you adjusted the angle and position of the camera manually to a set position of your choosing? I see that you've made a camera MOD for riding Chocobos also, so I assume you can manipulate them individually and have the MOD only affect a specific camera mode or could you also set different values for different cameras all in a singular MOD?

For example, could someone design a mod that heightened and expanded the Chocobo riding camera, Zoomed out exploration and combat but kept cutscenes and mini-games to the default value?

All of my camera mods modify the Distance variable of CameraSetting.uasset. The FOV setting is accessible per camera setting, but my mods do not modify it. However, a purely FOV variant can be arranged, but if it has the effects you describe, it would be best not to.

I love this mod! thank you so much! any way you could create a slightly further back camera for when players are in towns? I'd love a version with slightly more up close combat and further away in towns, but this is perfect with slightly higher FOV from FFVII fix for the world map

    Hello, great mod dude.

Really get to enjoy the world with this mod and obviously gives a different feel than original.

Is there any way to have this zoomed out view during combat only? or have half the zoom option from original and this original mod.

thanks a lot for your work.

Combat only is definitely something that can be done. Should probably split that onto another mod page to prevent this one from getting too cluttered.
