Any notes on how to install this into 7th heaven's version of the game? Ive been looking for that version's data files but I'm not entirely sure how it works.
I didn't notice any difference with the quality of the music in the PC version compared to the PS1 version, although I do remember the first PC release of Final Fantasy 7 did have some new soundtrack, the Steam version had the same as the PS1. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks for uploading this to the nexus.
The 1998 PC version uses MIDI songs (lower file size and lower quality). The PS1 version uses the original OGG soundtrack. You can notice this by listening to the different versions, MIDI uses more synths and waves.
IIRC SquareEnix updated the game, but they didnt actually replace the old MIDI with the PS .mp3s. They just improved the quality of the original MIDI.

There was some debate in that thread, but after listening to the samples referenced by Dukeinator in their last post, I am pretty convinced that he is right.
(Full Disclosure: I didnt look to see if there had been an update since the PC re-release to change the BGM back to .mp3, and Im not sure if the Steam version varies at all form other PC versions)
This is all wonderful, I'm just using this because 7th heaven never updates, lowers the version of the game before decent music and I thought this place might have a few Iro files.. Does anyone know if I need to do anything other than put them into the folder while running 7th heaven?
