I wish, but it's not possible to import that particular background. This cliffside background in the Pixel Remaster is a singular preassembled image and has no palette limitations or repeating tiles. This is what it looks like when extracted directly from the files-
This older version of FF6 however stores the Narshe cliff background in a tileset that is shared with the foreground. And there are a lot of obnoxious limitations attached. If you look at the village and cliff background, you'll see that a lot of the tiles repeat multiple times. To make matters worse, the tilesets only support a limited range of colors. A maximum of 256 colors for each tileset. The color palette and index also can't be altered or else the game will crash. When I made this mod, I did not deviate whatsoever from the existing palettes. There exists a couple of people who have found a way to change the palette/index, but it requires hex editing and other knowledge and skill that I don't have. And while you could at least make some edits to alter and improve the colors of the background via this method, it still wouldn't fix the repetition for how the tiles are mapped onto the background. You would also have to recolor the foreground tiles as well because they're stored on the same tilesets as the background and would have to adhere to whatever new palette is used.
The TLDR is- No you can't import that background graphic. And while it's technically possible to improve the existing existing background colors, it requires knowledge and skill that I lack. It would also be very difficult.
Thank you very much for this contribution! Narshe finally feels how it should. Any plans on de=saturating the grass inside towns? would be nice if there was an option like it looks on SNES.
