If the assets are already loaded a penumbra toggle can't switch the entire world out. So you make sure the data is loaded and then move to a significantly different zone so the game is forced to load new world assets.
If that doesn't fix your issue: Have this applied to everything in penumbra not just your player character. If you need more help I'd advise going to the penumbra discord to figure out exactly where things are getting fucked up.
Now that you said that the mod might be working, I have no way to really compare it, but I believe you, also it would make sense that it is working the same as the others.
I can't make the world textures to work, but the mobs upscaled, upscaled humans textures and equipment texture works fine. Even If I install it via Heliosphere does not make a difference. So is there anything I have missed?
After a little bit of confusion I figured it all out. This is a must have. I didn't realize that the heliosphere website plugged into the mod manager in-game. It took me a minute to realize that's how it functioned. Thanks so much
Hey Kartoffels... HUGE fan of your work now that I've actually taken the dive into FF 14. I do have a question regarding the world texture packs. When I look in my addon manager I am seeing almost all the world texture packs in white instead of green. I have them enabled and have been messing around with priority but no matter what I do, I can't get them to be green. Am I worried over nothing? Screenshot link below for reference
I mean if it works it isn't a problem. I think the green is only if it's a conflict winner, so white means it has no conflicts. (which is common for world data as no one else touches it)
Do these like to work with 8GB VRAM cards? The mod seems wonderful, but it also seems like a death sentence to anything below 16GB, and you don't touch on that anywhere in your post or your website. I'd love to know.
Tested all textures on a 6600 XT and game runs well! The very important difference I found is to have your Penumbra Mods Folder in a FAST SSD, because that seemed to be the one thing killing loading speeds.
im a bit slow on this post. VRAM readings can be quite tricky to monitor apparently, so often what is being shown is incorrect.. so i've heard. but assuming its correct or near abouts on windows 10 and msi afterburner. i use all the texture packs except the equipment one. my ff14 uses 4.9GB of my 11GB VRAM. Not sure how your estimates became so high, the textures are higher Res but the games map sizes are still small, so there is still a limit to how much can be displayed and higher res textures also have more room for compression so x2 or x4 doesnt instantly mean x2 or x4 file size. Maybe it some how blows up when you're in a busy place with equipment textures, but i deliberately dont use them because they increase loading times and cause players to display slowly even when using an M.2 SSD and its annoying for mare uses having to download textures every time a piece of equipment is changed.
Hello, i'm using the pack and its great but the Banana tree in my garden seems to turn black when moving to a distance. It's a housing item. Do you perhaps know why this may be and how i can fix it?
If i disable the textures, go in the house and then back out to make it reload. the tree is fine. So its definitely the texture pack. i'm just not sure if its just me or the pack files being incorrect. I have 11GB of VRAM and its using only 4-5GB, i think it might be a texture issue.

please leave the zone you are in (E.g.: limsa)
teleport to a very different zone (E.g: ishgard)
Then it will work.
