I can confirm that the only minion that crash the game is Nana Bear Minion... I removed everything from the bear and did an own custom bigjpg.com one and woah. works. Been using the mod for months now.
Came here to second this. I already had a mod installed for this minion, so I had it out when I opened my game to test this and got a crash. Deleted everything from Nana Bear in this mod's files, rebooted the game, no problems.
Just wanted to let you know that me and my friends may have found the cause for the crashing. I think it's the Nana Bear Minion. It's the only one my partner pulls out that crashes me and my buddy. But I guess there could def be more. Just guaranteed on that one :P Just thought I'd let you know! Thank you!
I know you've gotten all the confirmation you need n' all, but I just wanted reaffirm that this mod does particularly cause crashing in crowded areas, though sometimes in uncrowded aswell.
Update: Once we know that textools is back to 100% and no other bugs are popping up I will have to run a test. Chances are the reason Minions defined is causing crashes is because of the sheer number of people playing. Over 400 minions made HD with thousands of players logged in at once all running around most of whom have minions summoned all running across the screen at any given time. While Face/Hair defined is controllable to a degree as it is limited to character models, minions is not and having a few hundred to a thousand small running HD minions on first week of an expansion may cause potential issues.
This might be causing in-game crashes. Though I'm still trying to narrow it down. But this mod is the most likely cause considering the sheer number of textures, and it was the only mod other than Face/Hair Defined and The Body SE that Ii updated for EW. And crashes only happen randomly when near a plaza. Which is where the most variation of minions can appear. So there is a chance one of the minion textures is bugged.. finding which one can be a nightmare though..
I still need more testing to fully confirm. But hard to do right now with the insane ques. In any case not having any crashes so far since disabling it. If I do get any crashes with mod disabled, then ill update here. Will probably have to consider a full re-install in that case.
EDIT: Now getting the crash (dx11 errors) when i just started the game. Gonna try a full re-install of the game. May be a Endwalker related issue and not this mod after-all
I have been getting dx11 crashes with this mod turned on, but after cleaning out my textools and starting over I have had no crashes. Hopefully after your reinstall you will also get the same results.
Had zero crashes now for several days after a clean reinstall. Gonna give the mod a new test now and see if it may have been the cause.
EDIT: And it crashed now when i went down to Limsa. Oddly no DX11 error messages like before. Tried logging in and crashed again. Removed only this mod and it works again. So definitely a problem with it.
Can also confirm this mod crashes, I had a bunch of people spawn minions on me, no crash, it wasn't until later the game crashed, saddly didn't get to see the last minion. And I have most minions too but I can't really afford to test sometimes because of how long the queues are.
At first I thought it was one of the mods I have installed but the root end up being this mod.
I want to add my own post to the ones complaining of crashes with this mod installed. I had two cases of crashes on December 2nd, before the launch of Endwalker. Both cases involved DirectX errors when I attempted to log into my character. One instance was in Rhalgr's Reach with only a few other people running around, so it isn't an issue of minion volume. There's some particular minion(s) to blame for the issue, and I was unlucky to run into a player who had one out. Of course this is going to be more likely in a crowded area.
I was eventually able to log back in with the mod still enabled, presumably after the person with the bugged minion left the area. But I encountered the issue later that day in Limsa. I reinstalled graphics card drivers, dx11 drivers, adjusted all video settings, switched to dx9, disabled all overlays, disabled all other mods and plugins. I tried everything short of reinstalling the game, and the only thing that worked was removing this mod. I haven't had any such crashes since.
It's great work as usual otherwise, and I'm glad you're looking into the issue as I'd love the opportunity to use it again.

Sad that its not actually fixed yet, extremely simple hotfix to just remove that minion and figure out why it crashes at leisure, but oh well
