Hi Elderseal, I just downloaded 6.4's texture pack today so I will begin to pick away at updating stuff that got messed up. Update should not be too long.
Nice work, if a bit too screen filling for my liking, ha. I'd love your Stone III for Stone IV, or an even smaller version of your volcanic Stone IV. Love the effects for Regen and Misery though! Mixing and matching your effects with another WHM effects mod gives a lot of great customization when the VFX get a little boring.
Edit: For anyone who wants to do some hands-on mix and match, the VFX Editor plugin for Dalamud (via FFXIVLauncher) will allow real time editing in the game including scale and loading X effect to replace Y effect. You'll need to extract the *.ttmp2 mod archive to get the raw files, which also gives you the folder structure to point the editor to when doing these replacements. It's not too tough to learn with a little trial and error!
Hi Tinker13, this mod is client-side only so only you would experience the changes that come with the mod. Everyone else would see the original/normal visual effects.
Hey did you see you were featured in an article as one of the top 20 best mods in ffxiv? I don't play white mage but I thought it was cool that someone who has 5 endorsements got a shout-out. It's on whatifgaming.
Hi Nypheena, sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, my intention was to really only edit battle spells though, I threw in regen for fun. Check out Papachin over on XIV mod archive if you haven't already. They did a whm vfxs mod a while ago and I believe they edited Cure III, Tetra, and Assize.
These look amazing, thank you for making them! I do want to ask though, do I have to worry about a significant impact on performance, especially if there's multiple white mages casting these? Additionally, is there a way to increase opacity on the effects of Holy? As it is currently, it's impossible for me to tell when I'm standing in a ground AoE until after the effects finish.
Hi Sinag3, thanks for the feedback! You definitely will need to set everyone's battle effects to 'limited' in the 'character configuration' menu. I will update the description page to let others know. I knew my Holy might be burning/blinding some retinas. I'll get started on a version that's less of a flashbang so AoE awareness isn't diminished.
I made the change in my settings you suggested and it works perfectly so far! Thank you very much for making these effects, they're beautiful, and I'm looking forward to an updated version!
Very beautiful! i'd just request for a version with smaller orbs/magic circle infront of the characters or none at all, i can see it becoming a bit distracting after a while.
