Am I crazy or is there just no information anywhere on here that actually explains how to install this? I've tried searching but found nothing, there aren't any document files other than the what's in the folder. I'm kind of really lost here.

To install mods in FF:XIV, you need to be on the PC client, and you need to install either TexTools (https://www.ffxiv-textools.net/) or XIVLauncher + Penumbra (https://reniguide.carrd.co/)
Once one of those is set up, the .ttmp2 file can be added via those programs
I would recommend TexTools if you have no interest in further modding, or do not wish to deal with any other program setup requirements

You can acquire a work in progress build from the mods heliosphere page, under the Variant listed as "Work In Progress (expect bugs)" https://heliosphere.app/mod/HrothgarVieraHats Which currently contains all updates for hrothgar m/f, male viera hair, and most hat content
Female viera are still in progress, but updates on what im working on (and my life troubles) can be monitored over on bsky https://bsky.app/profile/roxl.bsky.social

This mod by RoxlLuikhart is still worth downloading everyone & SE's efforts shown(in this picture) so far is lazy where it just looks like they just turned on the hats that wasn't allowed to be visible on Vieras and Hrothgars without any effort of design-details for ear-holes where it'll be needed.
I think my favourite part of how low effort the viera implementation looks to be is that you can see the hairs tufts that stick up from the base of the ear also clipping through the hats, when that would be the easiest part to hide that would make ears clipping through infinitely nicer by default
But we shall see what they end up doing. If they don't make any effort to move hat plumes or anything that stick in the way of ears currently, then I guess I'll still be doing a lot more work 😅
By the time they release the 7.3 update there will still be some hats / head-gears that's still missing / not-visible for Vieras / Hrothgars & Your mod will still be more up-to-date compared to the "half-assed" efforts S.E. been doing on this issue.
@RoxlLuikhart your continuous work you've been doing for the hats / head-gears is still needed & Very much appreciated. I have to also say this is some good-calculated timing on how you just released your most recent update after the recent FFXIV Live-Letter 87th livestream haha.
I wish there were any kind of calculated timing because the announcement surprised me like everyone else The current mod update had been in the works for a while and had reached the final stages last week Had the official announcement not been made, the hat mod would have likely been delayed for a few more weeks to let me work on adding more polish to the current hat implementations
But with the announcement, it means I may as well just revamp the entire mod after the patch instead of focus on stuff that's going to require redoing anyway 😅
With the news that has just dropped about 7.3, a lot of people won't know about the work you did here. I just wanted to take the time to come here and say Thank you, you are a treasure!
I really really hope you get where you want in your life. You deserve it for providing several years of happiness to over 100'000 people (going by downloads)

Apologies if this isn't the right place for this question, and I'm sorry to hear about your health. I hope you're doing better! I just wondered - I've worked with making hairs compatible with hats before on other races. If I wanted to make one of the new hairs work with this mod for my own game, do I just need to make it hat compatible like I would for other hairs, or is it a bit more steps than that? Thanks for all you do :)

I don't know if this is in the cards but if I can make a potential suggestion, I really love the way the myochin jingasa comes with little cat ears on miqote and wanted to know how possible it would be to get those on the hrothgar in some capacity?
