Hello, I'm dumb as a stump... Please extract for me all the CGI videos from the game Final Fantasy XIII-2, then send them to me via Google Drive... I just don't have the strength to deal with this task anymore.. I can't do anything me.

Your best bet would be to use the Nova Chrysalia mod manager found on FNC: Modding Community discord.  You can find a link to it on the finalfantasyxiii subreddit on the right hand side of the page.  Unpacking the game using this tool should put all the FMVs into a movie subdirectory that you can then view.

Edit: One item to note, most of the XIII-2 cutscenes are generated using the in-game engine.

    Hi,

I have a problem with the bk2 files.
After extracting the cutscenes using the "US Region", all of the files always have the file size 95,3 Mb. The "Japan Region" works fine.

I'm not sure if this problem is related to the HD Movies mod for ffxiii because your extraction tool does extract the Movie files in 1920x1080 (Original Resolution is 1280x736. HD FMV is 1920x1080) but they all end up being 95,3 Mb. When using the RAD video tools, the cutscene just suddenly stops after 8 or 10 seconds.

I tried to fix it by changing the settings in RAD video tools but I think the problem causing this, is the file size at the extraction.

I've never tried it using the HD movies.  It was designed for the base game.  I'd have to take a look at it.

Update: I've edited the description to note that this mod is not compatible with the HD Movie mod.  My guess is that it works for the Japanese FMVs because you did not install the Japanese version of the HD Movies.

Hi, can anyone tell me how to extract files for ffxiii-2 and -3. I saw the readme it says using ffxiiicrypt.exe, but I don't know how to do it. Like after getting the ffxiiicrypt.exe what am I supposed to do.
Sorry, I am new to this.
    Thank you for your time

FFXIII-2 and LR encrypted their filelist files and it requires the ffxiiicrypt.exe app to decrypt them in order to modify them.  If you run the .exe file inside a command prompt window, you will see how to use the app.  Also, the ff13tool.exe can automatically decrypt the filelist (by using the ffxiiicrypt tool) if you place them in the same directory when you run the ff13tool.

Thanks. I have the movie folder in my game directory. And with your help, I could play them with the Rad tool with fixed audio. There is an option in the Rad tool to convert them to standard video files, but when I do that, only audio is extracted. Do you know how to have videos as well?

I just tried converting one to AVI and it worked for me.  I only chose the video (no audio).

Ah. This doesn't work with the HD files... That's a disappointment but entirely understandable. I presume this extractor was programmed for exclusively bk2 files. As the HD files are bk1, that would create an incompatibility I guess. Shame I don't know enough to do it myself.

This was made before there were any HD FMVs and the HD ones use some capabilities of the database files that this mod doesn't make use of.

Hi,when I run the "FFXIII CutScenes.bat" ,it says

FF13Tool.exe not found to extract WDB files

I don't know where is the mod directory. In my FFXII path, there is just single floders called "while_data",inside the floder, there are a sub-floder named"movie",the FMVs inside that is *.wmp format. There are not ANY *.wdb files in my game floder.
Could you please tell my how to make the software work?

The ff13tool is packaged with the mod.  There are a couple reasons why this error may occur.

      1) The script is unable to unpackage the ff13tool.exe from the .zip file.  You can manually extract it yourself.  Just unzip the ff13tool.zip into your mod directory.

      2) If you are running the .bat file as an administrator, your default directory may not be the mod directory so it can't access the files.  To get around this, start a command prompt and navigate to your mod directory (if required), then run the batch file from the command prompt by just typing in "FFXIII Cutscenes.bat"  including the double quotes.

Let me know if this helps.

I'am sorry, the program stall doesn't work.I don't know where is the "mod dictionary".So I put all the programs into [Game dictionary]/white_data/sys .Under this dictionary,"ff13tool.exe"runs perfectly. But when I try to run the"FFXIII CutScenes.bat"(I didn't run it as an administrator). It says:

Searching for the Steam Final Fantasy XIII Directory.  Please Wait...Final Fantasy XXIII Directory found atMaking local copy of Final Fantasy XIII files...Unpacking Files...Copying .wdb Files...The system could not find the path specified. The system could not find the path specified.Deleting Temporary Files...Could not find F:\Video-games\FINAL FANTASY XIII\white_data\movie\filelistu.win32.binCould not find F:\Video-games\FINAL FANTASY XIII\white_data\movie\white_imgu.win32.bin

      More detils:
1.The game version I used is the Traditional Chinese version with the Japanese voice.
2."F:\Video-games\FINAL FANTASY XIII\"This is my game dictionary.
3.The movies named such as "z000.win32.wmp"are under the /movie dictionary

      Thank you so much :_)

I got it.If you find the *.wmp files in the game dictionary, you can use the 16-bit editer such as WinHex.
Then you will find there are 16 bits data before the word "KB2" which is the head of *.bk2 format.Delete the 16 bits data, the Rad tool will be able to play them.

Well sorry for the comment (I edited the comment, in the hope to don't look that stupid).
I should have carefully read your instructions again, before asking anything, so sorry.

So just thanks for your awesome work. :)

FF13Tool.exe not found to extract WDB files
Press any key to continue . . .

I have the FF13 tool as I've successfully installed all the other mods. What could I be missing?

If the FF13tool.exe file is in the mod directory then there is a chance that Windows is changing your starting directory when you run the batch file.  When a batch file is "run as Administrator", which could be your default, it automatically changes the default directory to the Windows\System32 (or similar) directory.  Many of my newer mods, I take that into account and make sure the directory is changed back.  This one is older and I've never updated it.  If this is the case then you can do the following steps.  In Windows Explorer, navigate to your mod directory.  Just under the ribbon, you will see the path name to your mod directory.  Click on the white space to the right of your directory, but to the left of the drop down arrow.  This should highlight the entire directory path.  Type in CMD.  This should open a command window in your mod directory (which should be displayed in the command window).  Now type the batch file name "FFXIII CutScenes".  This should now run the mod starting in the correct directory.  Let me know if this works.  At some point I need to update the mod similar to what I did with the others.

Does this extract all cutscenes or only the full cgi ones?

It will not do any of the in-game generated cutscenes. Only the pre-rendered ones - what I believe you are calling the full cgi ones.

    Okay, I'm wondering if I'm missing a step or if I just have no idea where the files are placed or what I'm doing;
I get as far as Select Zone, to which I say All, but after that it feels like it just doesn't do anything anymore? It closes down without indication it's doing anything. I've tried selecting any of the others but its the same result.

Just to verify, you ran the "FFXIII Cutscenes.bat" file, not the .exe file directly correct? What should happen when you run the batch file is that it will go through roughly the same game file copy/unpacking/extraction that happens in many of my other mods. After that is done, it will ask for the zone type stuff. Within a couple of seconds after that, you should begin to see a listing of the cutscenes being created.
