Install it using Nova, no, unless you make your own mod with the tools I suppose. What I did was simply copy over all the mod files from Gameplay Tweaks as well as the wdb files from the excel file, and manually overwrote the files that Nova Unpacked in the games install directory. Everything appears to be working as best as I can tell. My issue is I never played before, so I don't have a frame of reference to go off of, except the hour or so I played without Gameplay Tweaks and the Crystalarium edited files. But I'm almost positive its working as intended. If anyone knows better than I, please chime in.
I've never used the mod manager myself so I'm not sure how it works. If it's capable of easily installing .wdb files then the download for the excel workbook should work since they are packed in .wdb files. The download for the gameplay tweaks mod uses text files that are built specifically to use with the .bat file in the gameplay tweaks mod.
No, I think you are misunderstanding what I was saying. You don't use Nova to install this. Because I use Nova for other things, it changes how you go about installing this, which there instructions don't cover, or rather the Gameplay Tweaks mod, etc. Since the mods I use in Nova, don't share any of the same files as this, and Nova unpacks all the files, installing Gameplay Tweaks, and these addons was as simple as moving the files to their correct place. But you have to launch it from Nova, and use Nova, as the regular game can't work with the unpacked files. it sounds like you haven't really read up on modding this game all to much, and that isn't a dig, but I would spend a little time reading up on it, or just checking out this https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2010331278 on steam. It goes over the different mods and mod frameworks. And from there, you could individually search out each of the specific types of frameworks. There is a certain level of pre learning you need to do for getting everything setup to mod and running really good on a PC. its not hard, and takes a less than 30 mins, and would help you out a lot I feel. I hope you can figure everything out and have fun in the game, I know I am.
Hello ibbanez! Just passing by to thank you for this info. Thanks to you I managed to install this mod and the gameplay tweaks mod alongside the nova mods and it's been awesome 👌.
used on a previous save file, the ATB increase from crystarium is there and lit up and all but didnt actually give any atb bars. for example, lightning has her eidolon so she should be at 5atb (6th missing is for ultimate weapon). Saz does not have edeilon so he should be at 4, he is instead at 3 etc
Hello, this is a great mod, but I think giving everyone the -ra synergist spells makes the AI extremely dumb. Example: Hope casts Protect x3 Hope Casts Protectra x3 Hope Casts Shell x3 Hope casts Shellra x3 I've attached a video to illustrate the problem, you can also see Hope casting Bravery then instantly casting Bravera, cancelling it out.
Yeah you're right, I've noticed this a ton. I'm unsure if removing them entirely should be my priority if I try to update this. Whether it's more or less helpful than the base spells or which ones are more optimal to keep is debatable. In harder fights I've often simply cast the base spells myself despite them being weaker just because they last longer.
I was also very confused by the duplication of regular and enhanced buffs. So I racked my brains for a couple of hours and made a patch that changes all these enhanced buffs to 25hp.
The file itself cannot be attached here, so I’ll post the text of the patch. You need to create any .txt file and run it using FFXIIIwdbLoad.bat
So I am wondering if theres a way for me to reset or fix my crystarium... I installed the mods, played for a bit then checked the integrity of my files since my shortcut icon wasnt showing up and i think it unistalled the mods, I reinstalled, but now I dont have access to the abilites/accessories/role levels that I should after reinstalling. Do i need to just restart??
I don't think this mod works retroactively. I installed it and noticed that my Crystarium hadn't changed at all. This was about 7 hours into the game. I restarted my save and everything works - I'm at chapter 12 now and absolutely love this mod.
This mod is fantastic. I've been thinking about replaying the game time and time again, but I dreaded going through the Cocoon chapters because of how much a slog it was. It was a better experience this time around thanks to the mod.
If anyone wants to balance out the easier difficulty, definitely install Gameplay Tweaks and Hard Mode as well. I've just made chapter 10 myself and enjoying the game more than I did on my original playthrough years ago. Props to the creator.
pairs well with most of greenthumb's mods (minus his crystarium one ofc). I've manually edited the stupid crystarium workbook myself and it's not a fun time, props for giving me another playthrough. (incredibly hard not to give myself god weapons but i restrained myself)
Please could you upload/link to the list of abilities that don't work on different characters? I'm making my own Crystarium mod along similar lines and it would really help me out!
essentially all spells work on every character, but elemental strike attacks less so. Auto abilities and some commando skills dont work on some characters and some sentinel abilities don't function. Every character specific ability (Highwind, Army of One, etc.) don't work on other characters as far as I'm aware, but Death seems to work on every character despite it not being mentioned in the doc as I can assign it to Fang.
edit: good luck on your mod btw, editing the crystarium can be pretty tedious
I've found out that you can add weapon/accessory auto-abilities, like Auto-Bravery, to the Crystarium - I've reached out to the person who made the Excel to see if they want to update the VBA code with my findings :)
I'm not sure. If you can find the ability code for them (e.g. awp_c002_050 = Augment Maintenance II) then you can test adding it using Shinkansen's Cheat Table; if that works, I'll test adding to the Crystarium too :)
So far I have succeeded adding these: Ally KO: Power Surge II Attack: ATB Charge II Augment Maintenance II Auto Bravery Auto Faith Auto Tetradefense CPx2 Chain Bonus Boost II Critical: Power Surge II Defense Maintenance II Improved Counter II Improved Cure II Improved Debilitaion II Improved Debuffing II Improved Guard II Improved Raise II Improved Ward II Item Collector Item Scavenger Kill: ATB Charge Kill: Libra Quick Stagger Rapid Recovery Siphon Boost II Stagger Maintance II Uncapped Damage
Wow this is an incredible breakthrough, you could make some really incredible mods with this. If you could add in enemy skills as well that would be awesome. Maybe one day I could finally have a saboteur with debrave and defaith like the game always should have had.
Didn't see anything on the mod page that mentioned this but downloading the mod and then using it with a save where the characters have already unlocked past certain points in the crystarium actually locks you out from ever unlocking the newly added abilities from the mod. For example Lightning despite unlocking that first layer of Sentinel does not have Mediguard, and she doesn't have things like Firaga despite having it visibly unlocked in the Ravager crystarium. I guess that was to be expected since I had already upgraded past the point where she'd have unlocked these abilities with the mod but that does suck as I was planning on using this for a save that had already reached Gran Pulse.
