General Note: If you experience crashing issues while playing the game, the FF13Fix beginning with version 1.6.4 will now enable the 4GB patch to be applied to the FFXIII main exe file. Implementing the 4GB patch should resolve most, if not all, random crashing issues related to this mod. See the FF13Fix instructions on how to apply the 4GB patch.
If you are speaking about the Steam Deck (or something similar), you can't install the mod directly on Linux. However, you can install the mod on a PC then just copy the modified files over to the Linux system.
After installing the mod, do I need to keep the extracted files ( from the downloaded zip ) or are they now merged into the game and I can delete the extracted files?
While the game no longer needs the extracted files, I do keep a copy of some of the original game files should there ever need to be an update. But they are not necessary to play the game.
There have been several people that had trouble downloading and just had to switch to another browser (like Firefox) and it worked fine. Don't know why.
Hey, so I looked back at someone else's post but the recommended fix to their issue did not fix my own. I'm using a few mods, such as the ff13fix, 4gb patch, hd models mod, body sculpting mod. I've tried installing this but all I get is 'Access denied' spammed 100 times when selecting any of the options, I can select all options or just one, and it's the same issue. I'm going to try and start from scratch and install this before anything else, but if anyone knows what specifically caused it then it would be appreciated.
It looks like it was the ff13fix + 4GB patch mod that for whatever reason was causing this to have issues for me, because when I retried I installed that first and then tried to do this and came up with the same issue. I just retried all over again without installing that first and now it's fine.
Trying to install the mod now and it seems to be stalling 6 pips into "PCs" (assuming Player Characters).

will I run into issues if I extracted into the game directory itself? I unfortunately overlooked the installation steps and thought it meant to install anywhere within the game directory. currently running the batch file with no problems, but am worried i just screwed up the installation.
edit: how do I know it properly installed? after it went through it's copying game files, it instructed to press any key to continue, once i pressed a key it just closed the batch window.
So the reason I don't have you install it from the game directory as there is a chance that you can place it somewhere where it's possible it will delete the actual game files rather than the "temporary" ones it makes. As for "did it install"? The answer is no based on the picture you provided. Lightning is still the original model. For reference: This mod is designed for the Steam version only, and not for use with the mod manager Nova.
thank you for your answer. i will do a clean install to fix my previous mistake. as for further inquiry, once i run the batch file, will it be okay to delete the mod folder once everything is installed properly?
edit: same question, how do i know if it is installed? after it copied the game files it prompted me to press any key to continue, and it just closed the window right after...
edit 2: i installed the HD textures on the japanese version and then compared it to the english version, and it looks noticeably different, thank you for this mod!
Hi. I think I managed to install everything correctly (only played for 10 minutes) except these error messages came up during installation, everything else (characters, npcs, eidolons, etc) was fine except for that zoneu folder. Not sure what I did wrong? Thank you
Editing post with a few more notes since I've played the game all the way through Lake Bresha. Not sure if this is related to the mod and/or the issue above but sometimes the character models will flicker and and off super fast, if that makes sense... sometimes becoming invisible for a couple seconds here and there. This mostly happens when cutscenes are triggered and will continue to happen until they're over and I regain control. Could this be system related? I haven't tested the game without this mod so I wouldn't know. Thanks again.
