Hey everyone! Having trouble getting the installation to work?

Check out this great video by Talanath. His steps differ a bit from the Readme's, but the end result is the same. Hopefully this helps!

Hey everyone! Wanted to drop a quick update for the Struggle for Freedom Mod, which is now onto version 1.9.2! Before diving into what 1.9.2 does, I want to emphasize two major important things:

    • This is not the content update that I'm planning on releasing sometime in the future. This is more of a necessary update that fixes some bugs and reduces file bloat (I'll go into detail below). So still an important update, but this is mostly back-end fixes.

    • I did not develop this update - all credit goes to Xeavin, FFGriever, and Akita for this update. Seriously, they're awesome. Anyone who's been following SFF updates has seen that life has me basically completely away from modding for any major portion of dedicated time, so I can't thank them enough for helping with this update.

So what does this update entail? Some big things:

    • The mod size is significantly decreased due to a huge number of redundant files being removed. This not only helps increase download speeds for users with poor internet connections, but also helps greatly increase compatibility with other mods.

    • The custom title screen can now be disabled as an option during install, a request that many people were asking for.

    • Several random bugs were fixed, such as the Hybrid Gator not attacking in Ozmone Plain as well as the job symbols being replaced by character portraits during non-Struggle/Freedom playthroughs.

    • There were some compatibility issues with the most recent Vortex extension update, which this update fixes.

Again, full credit for this update goes to Xeavin and FFGriever.
I will also be updating the Proud Mode version of SFF with this in the next day or so and I'm looking into ways to decrease the size and increase the ease of readability of the documentation as well, so keep an eye on updates for those as well.
It's been almost 4 years to the day (give or take a little less than a month) since the last SFF update. As always, thank you to everyone who has played this mod, contributed to it, and offered feedback - both positive and negative. It's all appreciated! Please let me know if you run into any issues with this update. Looking forward to the large gameplay update soon(tm)!

You might want to update your downloadable documentation to add the location of the anastasia, as it now only shows who it can be stolen from in trial mode. The actual location can only be found here in the nexus page changelog, which was kinda stinky to discover.

Shoutout to that one reddit post asking the location, then answering himself saying "nvm i found out". curse thee with an eternity of toe stubbing.

I have been opening chests with diamond armlet in cerobi step  and only the claymore which seems unchanged from base game has been obtained.

I dont get why Iv read through all these posts, and you swear the diamond armlet almost always gives you the rare item, it clearly doesnt.

the diamond armlet gives more gil when you get gil from chests. it also uses the diamond armlet table for the chests.

they change the mod author made was that he swapped the percentage chance of those items. so what was the 5% is now the 95% and vice versa. at 5% you could still be cracking open knots of rusts, its 5% not 0%. not talking down to you here, just saying RNG is RNG and you only need to move 1 screen away to get the chest to respawn.

I read through the documentation, saw this post, and now I'm confused.

Seemingly most places (I didn't check them all) have the correct diamond armlet
rare item listed as switched with the diamond armlet common item.
But for just cerobi steppe it's the other way around, the same way base
game. So is this an error? I haven't been there yet but I've noticed in
Tchita uplands and also phon coast that i just got gil ludicrous amounts
of times while trying to farm.
It's possibly impossible if the rates are as stated in the document, In the uplands I had farmed around
50 chests and got only one item. the difference between some areas is
      night and day.
There might be something awry here, or this dude and myself should never dare to buy lottery tickets.

That said, fantastic mod. I'm enjoying it a lot and I thank you.

I can't tell if this is a bug or a mod conflict (Vortex doesn't detect anything), but even with the updated mod version the character icons for the SFF boards replace the "rebalanced" version's zodiac icons. And speaking of the SFF boards, there seems to be a weird shift happening with characters having those belonging to someone else. IE: Basch has the Wood Warden board, Fran has the Dancer board, etc.

Wonderful mod altogether, just some small things I've noticed. Thank you for everyone who's worked on this.

Would it be possible to edit treasure spawn rates for the mod via the Treasure Editor tool? I cant seem to find the right file within the mod to edit...

I don't really understand the thought process behind some of the changes to character stats. Balthier definitely doesn't feel like he should have the highest vitality or be the slowest, that feels way more fitting for Basch. Fran would logically have the highest speed too, she is literally a rabbit. Balthier's stats are also just really trash, he seems objectively weaker than everyone else.

More subjectively, I think Ashe fits better as having good strength and magick to fit a Bushi or Redmage playstyle, especially since none of the other party members fill that niche statwise. Balthier or Vaan would fit better as the middle of the road character in my opinion. Vaan because the protagonist usually fills that roll and Balthier because it would fit his character, especially since he doesn't really come off as specializing in anything in particular.

Also unrelated but the Masamune being changed to 1-handed sucks because it uses ugly 1 handed sword animations.

Im just nitpicking though, the mod is great so far.

Hey guys. I can't run this mod. I install it without errors, I checked the updates, both from Vortex and the mod, I checked the game's mod manager and it is in the latest version and Vortex installs the mod without errors but it has no effect on the game. It's as if I hadn't installed anything. I've already uninstalled and installed vortex, I've already checked the integrity of the game's base files, anyway, I don't know what's happening, this mod isn't working.

I am having the exact same issue. I hope someone can figure out what this issue actually is. I have tried literally everything I can think of to make this thing work, and it just refuses.

I had the same problem and found the fix. The new version of Vortex doesn't download or indicate that an external loader is needed. Just a
small red "1" from the "alert" menu pointed that out. Install that, and
      you're good to go

Balthier casts First Aid regardless of whether or not he has a gambit set up for it. Is that intended or am I looking at possible mod conflicts that need sorting?
