Just uploaded a 1.0.2 hotfix because of some issues. If you want to continue your progress from 1.0.1, go to the save data folder, which is usually in
    <drive>:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE\<save folder>
Check for FFXII_xxx.dir folder, then for each save file change the name from "HuntersInsightBestiaryID.json" to "HuntersInsight.json".

Awesome mod! You'd think the bestiary would have that info but this works great! 👍

Would it be possible to add the number of kills needed to fill out the Bestiary? would speed up a ton having to check the primer every time

Possible but that's almost entirely useless, i see no point on doing that.

    Great mod, love the concept!

I agree with the earlier commenter that an ability to use a keybind to cycle pages instead of them auto-cycling would be a nice option to have.

Edit: For others that may think the cycle time is a bit quick, you can edit the amount of time that each page is currently set to appear in the HuntersInsight.lua file on line 108.

To increase the time that each page is seen in game, change the value 0x20 from line 108 to a larger hexadecimal value such as 0x40

Thanks, im glad it is useful.
Next update should include editable timer, as for using keybind im currently still figuring it out, and haven't even decided which key to use

Waiting on the timer update, I don't think the manual cycling is really necessary but it would be cool. Only issue is how fast it cycles so would like to make it twice as long or maybe to only have it show if you target them with steal.

Thats a nice idea. Showing only Steal when choosing steal target, same with poach. While other actions or simply focus on a foe will cycle through all 4 menus.
But i guess thats too much coding. Im now well over 1000 lines haha.

Imo I think only the one that focuses on steal or poach while the action is up is needed, and it's the most mechanically fitting and least obtrusive. All 4 menus showing isn't needed, if that other thing is possible. If it's only possible to have all of it cycle at once, however, my only want is for it to be like 2x or 3x slower to feel more organic to the game.

Either way you decide, good mod idea and I'd still want it installed on my game for the QoL it brings. Potentially a must-have mod.

Then you would have to always select Steal or Poach before knowing what you can even get. At that point you have already spent time selecting the action, so using it or not, is going to need almost as much time as deciding to do that based on the data you see. It's certainly an option, but not necessarily a better one, depends on how you play. Personally, I would like to know all information before I act at all. This way you can even press the left or right array buttons to cycle through all foes while running around. You wouldn't be able to this if the menu was tied to the action.

As for using keybinding to cycle through the menus, it can be done, but it's difficult to find one that is not in use. If you have suggestions for some, feel free to share them.

    It would be nice if it could work with mods that change item drops/steals like Struggle for Freedom ;-;

It does, the data shown on the screen is directly retrieved from the currently loaded game files. Even if you were to modify them while the game is open, the menu would instantly show the change.

How do I customize exactly? Which file do I edit?

It should be at the game folder, under /x64/scripts/config/HuntersInsightConfig.lua

There are some parameters you can change, try it out

Ok, so I'm having issues with getting it working. I've tried using Hunter's Insight for a new playthrough, to see if I like it. However whenever I enable it in Vortex and try to start FF12, the game crashes before it can even load the Square Enix logo. I've already tried to disable all other mods, besides the requirements and use this one standalone, to no avail.

Make sure both EFL dan Lua Loader are up to date.
Also try just running the game with those 2 without this mod or any other, to see if everything is fine.

Played through an entire game of SFF with Hunter's Insight 1.0.0. Decided to start another game with The Planetary Age and noticed there was an update for Hunter's Insight to 1.0.2. Updated HI and noticed that it no longer works. Disabled TPA, and still nothing. Tried editing the config to be "true" and still nothing. Since you removed the old files I can't even go back to 1.0...

Have you updated the Lua Loader to the latest 1.6.3 version?
Try to make sure both External File and Lua Loader are up to date, not just for this mod but for others as well.
I've added the 1.0.0 version back, just in case you need it.

This was the problem. I was on Lua Loader 1.6.2. Curiously, Nexus says I downloaded 1.6.3 the day it was posted, but then vortex was reporting 1.6.2. Tested and the mod is working now; the new functionality is brilliant. Thank you for your hard work.

If not too much work, it would be nice if it showed the steal and drop, etc percentages.
