    Cant get this to install - I have the necessary pre-requisites 

    When i open the randomizer everything goes smoothly until the last step to generate the seed - a msg pops up stating

    Incorrect Location.
    Can't detect FFXII_TZA.exe. Make sure to run the randomizer from the steam folder of FF12.

    First I installed via vortex which put everything into steamapps > common > FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE > mods > deploy > rando -- didnt work
    I tried manually moving the contents of the mod to the main folder (steamapps > common > FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE) - didn't work
    Then i tried moving the FF12Rando exe file to that location (it was nested into its own folder after extraction) -- didnt work
    Finally i tried putting the contents of the mod into the x64 folder (where the actual FFXI_TZA.exe file is) and that didn't work

    Any ideas?

      Go into your steam folder where FF12 is installed. In there you find an x64 folder and there is a folder rando. In there you find the randomizer.exe as shortcut. Open this one, do all the flags you wanna use and then you can generate.

      Hey I had the same problem. Instead of using vortex I manually downloaded and put the files in the x64 folder. This made the seed generate.

    I am really confused on how to install this. I don't really use this stuff as i  generally don't play games with mods. I have installed Vortex. I added FF12 to the list of managed games. I dragged and dropped the External FIle loader into vortex and it installed. When I go to add the LUA loader, and the rando file itself I get a screen that says no ff12 external file loader detected. I have no idea how to fix this.

    Update: I seemed to have gotten past the install issues with help from the lua loader board, but now the game just crashes and says fatal error encountered. Seed generated fine as far as I can tell.

    Update 2: Seems verifying the files in steam fixed my issues.

    new to modding so sorry on being clueless. how do i get the randomizer to run and every thing after i get a seed generated? i've tried opening it with ff12 itself but it just gave me an error message. if i just open ff12 it doesn't change anything

    Anyone got the rando app stuck in the step "Backup Item Placement Method Attempt 1 (165 out of 777 items placed)? If I do change some settings, it will get stuck in the same place but different number of items.

    I'm pretty sure it worked with some different settings but with the new ones, it just doesn't want to generate seed...

    Please Help... I got the randomizer all set... It says complete and ready to play But I don't get any notification confirming the randomizer is active or not active and when I start a new game It's still Reks with his default Starter Stuff... Idk if I screwed something up or what...

    Is there a discord server for this randomizer yet?  I'd be interested in sharing resources and discussing seeds/settings with others, and if there was a community interested in racing this randomizer.

    Very cool mod! I haven't tried it yet as I'm going through some endgame stuff on my TZA save, and then I may or may not play NG-. I was wondering, however, if this is still being worked on? I see that the last update was on October 2022 and considering the mod description still mentions things to come, it made me wonder whether it was done or if it'd get any more updates.

    I was wondering if it would work to pick 12 of say, 36 boards for the left/right/ect.  The idea is using the board editor to add more possible boards for more possible combos.  I'm dubious that it would work without changes to the program, as it likely is expecting the 12 choices, and adding more or renaming them would likely be very bad.

    Would love to see more options for this, or ability to add your own in addition to the ones provided.

    Is it expected to take many attempts to get the randomizer to work when randomizing key items? Aside from one single attempt out of 10+ which worked, it always gets stuck somewhere around the 150-250th item for me. I've tried adding more key item types into the pool just to try stuff but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Disabling key item randomization works fine, but I was specifically interested in that aspect more than anything else. :/
