First of all, there is a performance impact. If you disable PPFX_SSDO it will be unnoticeable depending on how strong your PC is, though. Most PC's which can run this at 60fps should be just fine without SSDO.
I'm running a Ryzen 3600 and a 5700XT and I'm not dipping below the 60fps cap so far. SSDO enabled.

Slider image comparisons. Pics are switchable, 2 comparisons per link.

download: https://reshade.me/downloads/ReShade_Setup_4.7.0.exe
Install:
Launch the installer, click to select a game.
Wait for it to find FFXII_TZA.exe and select it. If it doesn't find it, browse for it manually.
(If you don't know where your FFXII install is.. Click on Browse. Now go into steam, right click FFXII, manage, browse local files. Go into x64 and there it is. Now right click the adress bar, copy as text and paste it into the explorer window ReShade opened and hit enter. Now you can select FFXII_TZA.exe)

A window with a list of repositories will pop up.
Leave standard and SweetFX ticked and also tick these:
Color effects by Prod80
Pirate Shaders by Heathen
qUINT by Marty McFly
Legacy Effects
click ok.

You're done with the installer now.

For simplity's sake I included deblur.fx in the download because Crosire decided to remove the ability to add repositories.
If you, holy creator of deblur.fx, are reading this and you find it sinful that I selfishly included your almighty creation in my download, I shall remove it at once.

What to do with the stuff you downloaded from here:
Drop the CleanPreset_FFXII.ini into (***\FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE\x64) and the Shaders folder into reshade-shaders located in the path I just mentioned.

Overlay stuff:
Launch the Game, open the ReShade overlay and select my preset by clicking on Defaultpreset.
A dropdown menu will open where you can select it.
The Bloom can be too strong or unfitting at times. Also affects the UI. To toggle it off / on press B.
PPFX_SSDO, the Ambient Occlusion, can look odd when there's a lot of fog. To toggle it off / on press P
Hotkeys can be set / changed in the overlay by right clicking a shader.

Now you're good to go!
If you need help or have any questions, feel free to ask. I look at the posts quite regularly. ^^
I'm open to requests/suggestions too. If you feel like something is overdone, not strong enough or you'd like something added, let me know.
I have access to Marty McFly's Ray Tracing shader too, but the GI looks rather meh to me in this game. If you want a seperate Preset for RTGI I can make that.
