1. Windows is flagging this as a virus, what's happening? A couple of the tools that MOMI uses has some false flags by Anti-virus. There's no virus and all the code is open for people to read through and look for themselves.
2. When I try to run Fields of Mistria it says "Missing the game executable". What do I do? This is caused by some mods not fully uninstalling or your systems Anti-virus removing files it shouldn't. Run MOMI and use the "Uninstall" button in MOMI. Even if you've already uninstalled and reinstalled the game, you'll want to do this step to resolve the error 3. I just downloaded the latest version, but MOMI still gives me a popup saying I need to update. What do I do? In the case that either I've not uploaded the latest version to Nexus Mods, or if Nexus is having some issues and not giving people the latest version as a download, you should grab the latest release from here: https://github.com/Garethp/Mods-of-Mistria-Installer/releases/lates
4. After Fields of Mistria updated, I'm getting an error. What do I do? Do the following steps twice:
Open MOMI and click "Uninstall All"
Use Steam to Verify Integrity of the files of Fields Of Mistria
Open MOMI and install your mods again
If you've done this twice and it still doesn't work, come ask for help in the Fields of Mistria Discord Server
Hey guys, I think I've found a solution to the problem with this latest update.I have 39 mods added to MOMI. And when I tried to run the game, I also received the "Butterfly wall lamp" message. After a long time trying to understand what was happening, I decided to uninstall all my mods and add them one by one to find out which mod was causing this issue, or which mods I could play the game with. So, I installed a mod and opened the game. If the game ran perfectly, I closed it and moved on to the next mod. By doing this, I discovered that among the 39 mods, only two were giving me the "Butterfly wall lamp" message: "ZZ_Free crafting by Silver" and "Big angel wings by stampingfeet." Doing all this is quite annoying, but within a few minutes I was playing the new update, so it's worth it!
hi after todays update anytime i install any of my mods it tells me "butterfly wall lamp" isn't available and i have to close fields of mistria. then i have to repair the game so it opens. :(
Hey guys, this is what I did to get my game to work with mods today:
I can't vouch for games that already had mods, as this was my first time adding them and I was getting all the same errors and couldn't launch my game!
1. I downloaded MOMI from the github site, even though it looks like its the same version uploaded here. Why not, eh? 2. I paused Windows Defender (or w/e antivirus you may have) 3. Uninstalled any mods via MOMI (which finally stopped telling me it could be updated) and verified my game files via steam. 4. reinstalled the mods via MOMI 5. Instead of launching the game through steam, I went to the game's folder (under steamapps>common>Fields of Mistria) and launched the exe as administrator
Then a few command prompts (yytoolkit) came up (said it was "disassembling the game" but don't panic) and voila, the game launched perfectly and my mods are showing up! I'll update this if I come across any bugs. But it's far more than I was able to do just an hour ago, or yesterday. :) Hope this helps someone!
Butterfly wall lamp is reportedly "not found" when I boot up MOMI/FoM. I then have to validate repair FoM's files (for me, it's 7 files that get re-downloaded). After repairing the files, I can boot up the game but none of my mods show up. I'll try to reinstall mods through MOMI, and then I'll get "butterfly wall lamp not found," have to validate and repair FoM's files again (the same 7 files as before). I've tried 4 times and it's the same loop.
I've also uninstalled MOMI and reinstalled it through GitHub just in case. Same issue.
Edit: looked through the comments. Looks like it's related to the July 21's patch? Edit 2: just noticed MOMI hasn't been updated since May, so it must be related to FoM's patch?
Update: I made sure to follow these steps just in case I didn't yesterday.
4. After Fields of Mistria updated, I'm getting an error. What do I do? Do the following steps twice:
Open MOMI and click "Uninstall All"
Use Steam to Verify Integrity of the files of Fields Of Mistria
Open MOMI and install your mods again
I tried a few times, but to no avail. I've no clue where to even find the FoM server, but I'll look around on blue sky and see if I find it. Then I'll see if anyone else mentioned it on the server.
I have the newest update, but I keep on getting "A new version of the Mods Of Mistria Installer is available, please update." How do I fix this? Also, anytime I click "Install," it says "Reading out of bounds." and "Reading Textures/Sprites" and wouldn't actually finish installing. I can't run Fields of Mistria either.
my guess is the mod manager probably needs to be updated for the new patch, and so might the mods you're using. if you uninstall everything via the mod manager + verify file integrity on steam you should be able to play modless without issues, or take a break until the mod manager is updated
ETA: looking at the timestamp, the new major patch wasnt out yet. check the github installer

Keep going through file integrity verification on Steam until you got all of your files fixed and game runs again with your mods installed.
