Unzip to your /mods folder. Drag mods towards bottom of your load order. Check the boxes for mods which you want to use.
Multiverse and Captain's Edition are known to modify the starting beacon and you are advised -not- to use the Ascension Starting Beacon with those mods. It's only supposed to be used with the semi-automated ships anyhow......
