Change the ZIP extension to FTL and install using Slipstream Mod Manager. I don't use CE or other major overhauls, so I don't know if there are compatibility issues.
I love this mod and it works great but I have an issue where a lot of crewmembers shown on screen show up as squares for some reason, and I don't know why or if its this mod or not, also issues with other textures not generating properly with weird yellow/white squares. Besides that, mechanically everything works and the descriptions and stats for everything added into the game works fine, I don't see any issues with it so far, and I've been streaming it on twitch so if there were any major bugs besides visual ones they would have ended my ability to stream it.
It may not have been this mod, but I fixed my issue by deleting some mods I wasn't using, and adding more mods that specifically added new graphics, and then putting this mod to load at the bottom of the load order to prevent other mods from stopping this mod from working. Just leaving my comment here in case it randomly helps someone else with the same issue.
Slipstream isn't recognizing the zip file in the folder. All of my other mods are a single file and Slip sees them., but not the folder, even with the extension changed to ftl.
Not sure if there's been any updates to the game, but, if so, that may have changed something that causes a problem. Occasionally, people have had issues that removing, redownloading and reinstalling have fixed. Or it could be an incompatibility with another mod.
I can't installed the mod with Slipstream. There is a message "This mod doesn't append. It clobbers. FTL itself can tolerate lots of XML typos and still run. But malformed XML may break tools that do proper parsing, and it hinders the development of new tools. Slipstream will try to parse XML while patching: first strictly, then failing over to a sloppy parser. The sloppy parser will tolerate similar errors, at the risk of unforseen behavior, so satisfying the strict parser is advised."
Sorry, but I have no idea what to tell you. There's no reason this should be giving a problem, and I've never heard anyone having this issue with it. The XML was verified, so it shouldn't cause any issues. Maybe try redownloading, in case the file was corrupted somehow. Sorry I can't offer any more help!
unzip the build your own ship.ftl then go into data (you are going to need a text editor i use notepad++) right click on events.xml.append and use your text editor to edit it then go to <item type="scrap" min="1000" max="1000"/> edit this ^ and ^ this. I set mine 1000 have fun

Can someone gave me a solution ?
These are the instructions:
Method 2: Manually edit your own .dat file (Much more complicated, but simple coding)
- Use FTL Unpacker 1.01 (https://db.tt/V6nmnnmu) to unpack the data.dat file
- Open the events.xml file
- Find the event "START_GAME" and add <modifyPursuit amount="-100000"/> right after the </text> but before the </event>
- Find the event "START_BEACON" and add <modifyPursuit amount="-100000"/> right after the </text> but before the </event>
- Save and exit events.xml
- Rename the original "data.dat" file to "olddata.dat"
- Repack the folder you unpacked the files to again using FTL unpacker
- (Steam Users) Disable Automatic updates in the properties of FTL in Steam
- Start a new game (advanced content turned on) -
