do u use photoshop or gimp to do this? and can u share the steps on how to do suit editing? https://farcrymods.freeforums.net/thread/388/modding-201-advanced-create-skins this quite old and hard to work with
yep i use photoshop.. so first find the texture that you want to edit from the unpacked patch file (you can download my file as a reference) next we convert the xbt file to png with dunia tools in "Graphics Converter" tab and make sure you choose far cry 4 game. link (https://www.nexusmods.com/farcryprimal/mods/5) next edit it with photoshop. next convert it to dds with ddsconverter (im using v1.4) with format DXT1. link (https://vvvv.org/contribution/dds-converter) and then after that convert it back to xbt with duniatools (goto "advance" tab then choose dds if you want to batch convert) yea i know my step is more complicated.. but this is step i use last year and currently i dont play this game so i cant really remember exactly specific step i use.. i hope you understand..
Thank u for ur reply, I will try to follow ur steps and tell you how it went...however I want to ask where can I find these xbt files for the dress as my unpacked patch files don't contain them...if I use ur xbts and recolor them will it work...it should right? and ur gloves sec has two files like "fps_gloves01_d.xbt" and "fps_gloves01_d_mip0.xbt" whats the difference
I have sent an email in nexus and I have run to a problem
if u cant find the xbt file, then you must download this (https://steve.farcry.eu/files/fc4_master_filelist_steve64.zip) extract it, then rename the file to FCCU_FC4.filelist, next copy it to your DuniaTools directory (DuniaTools\bin\fc4_dunia\projects\FCCU_FC4\files\<here and replace it>). Now you can try unpack the patch file once again and the file should be there.
I think it will work.
For the difference between 2 files that you mention, you can check it on google and i think you should edit both files to prevent glitch in-game.
Adding on to this, are you able to put in any custom textures? I have experience with creating textures, but if I wanted to say put a specific image on the texture, would it be shown in-game or will it be lost/altered when changing formats?
